Red Note Evening Live with Chrisette Michelle
A RED NOTE EVENING LIVE WITH CHRISETTE MICHELLE
The Washington DC Alumnae Chapter (WDCAC), Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., in collaboration with the Washington D.C. Alumnae Foundation will host a benefit concert starring R&B singer/songwriter Chrisette Michelle, Saturday October 10, 2015 at the historic Lisner Auditorium on the campus of George Washington University.
Grammy Award winning songstress Chrisette Michele, one of today’s most promising talents, has an effortlessly versatile singing style inspired with Billie Holiday-esque inflections of vocal jazz and pop that evolved from her start in gospel music. The concert will also feature Billboard charting recording artist and violinist Chelsey Green and the Green Project. Having graced the stage with international recording artists like Stevie Wonder, Rubben Studdard, and J.Cole, Chelsey is known for her electrifying and vivacious performances that have captured audiences around the globe.
With a roster of over 600 members, WDCAC is one of the oldest and largest chapters in Delta Sigma Theta Sorority. Established on February 3, 1921 as the Beta Beta Chapter by nine visionary women, WDCAC annually awards over $20,000 in scholarships to new and continuing students. For the last 94 years, the chapter has served the Washington DC community by sponsoring various community programs in education, health, political, economic and international development and entrepreneurship.
With the creative assistance of Entrepreneur Kris Hicks and her company, Rhythm and Views Productions, LLC, A Red Note Evening will support WDCAC’s continuous efforts to support the District of Columbia through enriching outreach programs and service initiatives, including college scholarships for deserving students and year around mentorship programs and academic enrichment. The community is invited to come enjoy a soul-filled night of entertainment while contributing towards the success of impactful community programs. Tickets are on sale at www.wdcac.org: General Admission, $70.00; VIP, $90.00; and VIP/Backstage, $120.00.
