Collage of Childhood memories I believe, The most simple is the best and the simplest things are most difficult to create. I am from a small village of Maharashtra State, India and now I am in metro city, so the amalgams of nature and city life are mirrored in my work … As a child I used to love visiting rivers and was fascinated by the skies, clouds, rocks, reflection of shallow water, corals, trees, the colours and textures of wood, flowers and butterflies, stones and leaves. These are now developed into frames of reference and have manifested themselves in my abstract work… after experimenting with various mediums, i.e. acrylic, watercolour, pastels; I have chosen this new and interesting palate “collage” As every painting gives me pleasure, so does the medium. Each medium keeps on encouraging me to explore and experiment. All my paintings have given me sublime satisfaction of creation. The feeling of immense joy, which I have experienced, therefore I hope to offer the same to the viewers. If you carefully go through my painting, you may find various meanings according to your understanding or even the colour, texture, composition or subject might interest you. That is why in order to understand an abstract painting; the point of view is what matters most. Ultimately it is the viewer’s point of view to perceive.

Black & white abstract interests me just as color abstract does. The reason lies in my past. In school, we had these exhibitions, for which I used a peculiar kind of black ink which was available in granular form and was water soluble. The density of black was extremely dark in it and created an amazing impact. I used to get so much engrossed into it and didn’t leave the picture until it was complete. Since then I share a special relation with black. Many artists consider black to be a negative color. But I consider it most positive, because black color inspires me many a times. Ultimately it is the viewer’s point of view. While doing a color abstract, you have various colors to denote different feelings. But to denote under the same feelings and forms in the absence of other colors and using only black & white, is a challenge in itself and that is why I am all the more euphoric at the completion of a black & white abstract, so I had successfully laid my subject as an artist in only two colors i.e. presence & absence of light.
