"Zooble is the most overlooked and forgotten in the main-"
NO. NO THEY ARE NOT. DO NOT GET ME FUCKING STARTED. GANGLE IS THE MOST OVERLOOKED. MOST PEOPLE FORGET SHE EVEN EXISTS.
Longgggg rant under the cut
THERE'S OVER 1 THOUSAND LESS PEOPLE IN THE GANGLE FANCLUB THAN THERE ARE IN THE ZOOBLE FANCLUB. SHE GETS THE LEAST AMOUNT OF SCREEN TIME. WE KNOW ALMOST NOTHING ABOUT HER EXCEPT THAT SHE LIKES DRAWING. STOP SAYING ZOOBLE IS THE MOST OVERLOOKED. THEY ARE INDEED OVERLOOKED BUT NOT THE MOST. AND YOU DIDNT EVEN THINK ABOUT GANGLE BEING THE MOST OVERLOOKED BECAUSE YOU FORGOT ABOUT HER. A MAJOR PART IN JAX'S STORY. THAT'S ALL SHE'S KNOWN FOR. A MAJOR PART IN *SOMEONE ELSE'S* STORY.
Want my opinion? Gangle and ragatha are the most forgotten characters in the series. Personally for me, and many others i know, we really just dont know enough about them to care. It's also probably the fact that they're not as wacky and goofy as the others or maybe it's just simply that they dont get nearly as much screen time as the others. I love zooble with all my heart, but many others do compared to gangle and ragatha, especially gangle. Please stop it with the gangle slander smh 😭✌
If you dont agree with me on this then that's completely understandable, everyone has their own point of view and despite me being adamamt about my answer being the correct one, i really dont know. Im just speaking from personal experience and that i've seen from others. So far the only people i've ever seen say that gangle is their favourite are my mom and therapist, so... yknow. Most people tend to look at jax, pomni, and kinger.
Pomni, because she's the star of the show. Essentially the eyes we view the circus from, so she's the one we see the most.
Jax, because she's in a very similar place as pomni. She's a very prominent character and tends to be more goofy, which often means more memorable. She pushes people away because she doesnt want them to be close to her, because she's worried she'll have another incident like she did with her mom. That's very relatable to some people, but on the surface, most people just see her as a funny cartoony asshole, who she's trying to pretend to be, so they like her.
Caine, because he's silly and wacky. Because he has his moments and is highly relatable to neurodivergent folks like myself. He isnt human and he knows that but he at least wants to be recognized as and treated like one.
Kinger, because he's just silly and stupid when he's not in the dark. Some like him for his silliness, others for his good tips, and a lot for both. He's not nearly as prominent as pomni nor jax, but he's still quite common and was one of the comedy relief characters. In the more recent episodes, he's very important to the story.
A lot of people forget about zooble. They kinda just view them as a blank slate who just complains. They're not. They have nuance, depth, and many more things. Body and gender dysphoria is quite a common thing, especially for those who watch tadc (which is mostly the queer community), so of course many people will relate to them with that and like them for it. They also have their own life too, with their jobs and experiences. They're gangle's half, the part that helps her when she's down.
Most people forget about gangle. Like zooble, many see her as a blank slate, mostly due to her lack of inclusion in the show. She's an artist, used to work at a fast food chain, and is now (at least in the macroverse) working at an art institution after recovering from ambiguous injuries. Besides that, we dont know much. Sure, you could say we know about just as much as the others as we do with her, it's mostly the fact that her things arent nearly as expanded upon as others. Despite having her own episode, it really didnt showcase much, at least not that the general public could understand. From what i understand and remember from the episode, before entering the circus, she never got to fulfill her dream of being a comic artist and that got to her, rightfully. She thought what she wanted didnt matter anymore, so she just had to fit in with the rest to succeed -- become part of the crowd -- just like how the audience sees her.
Ragatha. Oh, ragatha. I dont have nearly as much to say about her as i do gangle, but oh boy do i have some things to say. Her entire character to most people is that she had an abusive mother and likes horses. Which, to be fair, is what you gather looking at the surface layer. But just having an abusive mother doesnt just mean she has an abusive mother. Those things change people; make them change who they are and how they act. Ragatha was taught from a young age to view her own mental health as worthless; to give it all up for the sake of helping others' mental health. No one was ever supposed to ask if she was ok. She's the mom friend, she's just there to help you, she doesnt have any problems herself. No, she does. She doesnt talk about them because of her mind shattering trauma. She's been forced to push it down like the last few chips in the bag. That's why she seems blank. Because she pretends to be. She's not. Just like gangle and jax; she pretends to be someone she isnt just for other people.
People tend to forget that nuance exists. No one reads into things anymore. They just take it as it is. Im sick of it. It's not like these things werent obvious, either. They were basically spelt out for us.
Like i said, if you dont agree with any or some of this then that's totally chill, it just comes down to personal interpretation.
Also just wanted to point out that the #transfem jax tag comes before the #transfem tag when you search it and i think that's beautiful. She's finally being recognized for herself. Isnt she lovely? :]
Me and the homies @panromanticturtle + @eldritchcats :]
It feels so crazy that this show is over after three years. What a great run we had. I hope goose can rest after the pain she had to go through making this show
