Kristin Simmons is a modern artist that highlights the dark side of our society today. She uses her vulgar and grotesque pieces incorporating mixed medias such as painting, printmaking, and others to shed light on issues such as the drinking age, addiction, the second amendment, the justice system flaws, and so many more. On Simmons’ website, it’s noted that she is the recipient of many awards “including the Orra White Hitchcock award, and the National Endowment of the Arts Award.” Simmons received a dual Bachelor of Arts degree in Art History and Visual Arts from Columbia University.
