HOW’S THAT HOUSE THAT RAISED YOU? - Lev St. Valentine
Kelly Link, 21st April 2026
One of my summer students just asked "can I talk to you? Alone?" and it was about how to get blue hair dye off her skin and dorm bathroom. How did she spot me?!? I’m wearing a blouse and cardigan, and I have greying hair in a tortoiseshell clasp now.
I absolutely know how to deal with neon hair dye explosion, but how did she know that I would know?!?!
you are a woman in a fantasy book written by a man. choose your personality trait
PETITE but super strong (defeats men easily 3x your size)
crosses arms across breasts / yanks braid in irritation
has giant sexy bazongers (that are sooooo inconvenient for archery)
"ugh, MEN" (acts in completely irrational manner)
only female character among cast of 3,000 men
see male protagonist > i must bone him immediately
written to "defeat sexist tropes" but is just written as a man instead
not like the OTHER girls (tucks hair behind ears)
damsel in distress (faints dramatically) ooohhhhh
When Apollo 11 successfully landed and the images were released, ‘The Sun’ newspaper in Vancouver changed it’s name to ‘The Moon’ to report it.
The exclamation point is a nice touch!
STAR TREK: VOYAGER - S6E12 Blink of an Eye
is this gonna get me fired you think
Don’t let fake fans tell you different, Trek has always been queer 🏳️🌈🪐🚀
I’ve slightly pulled a muscle in my ribs which is the most inconvenient place because it turns out you move your torso a lot all day, even if you try very hard not to exacerbate it.
So I sleep with weird pillow configurations to keep supported and still. My little cat thinks I’ve built special napping and hiding places for her on the bed, and comes to inspect and find where she wants to sleep with me. She really makes feeling sore and stiff so much nicer.
Has this been done yet
My mom just told me she gave away all the paper lanterns from my wedding (10+ years ago) and I guess I didn’t react enough because she said “I bet you don’t even remember those lanterns”
You guys, I did not choose those lanterns, I did not discuss those lanterns, the first time I knew there would be paper lantern decor at my wedding was that morning when I saw them hanging in the yard.
I didn’t really pick anything for my wedding because whenever I liked something, my mom just bought something else anyway or added something extra to it. Or she told me after the fact that she’d found a perfect whatever so she already got it for me. She really likes decorating and she was very interested in a look and style, and I didn’t and still don’t care.
This is the best ad for Project Hail Mary I have ever seen. Like if I was on the fence about watching or reading it, this would convince me to do so.
Also! Harold has to go to NC for some family things, so last weekend he brought Sushi and me to my dorm for a few weeks. I like staying in the dorms because I can be on my bed reading a book minutes after the workday ends. It’s even better now because I can be back in my room and playing with Sushi minutes after classes end!
I’m teaching at my favorite summer school again, and I’ve been here long enough that I got my favorite level and favorite classroom, and I have all my activities from last year ready to go.
It’s the perfect summer assignment because it’s fairly easy now (after 4 years here, it’s barely prep, more like selecting and organizing which of my favourite activities are best for these students and their interests) but it’s not boring because there are new students all the time and new ways to improve my classes.
