I didn’t have high hopes for this boy and even still I was disappointed.
(Also, the auto-focus wasn’t working so some of the pictures are a bit blurry)
I love the scavengers in MTMTE so I was happy to get new toys of them! Still, the pictures for Krok left me underwhelmed. His colors are wrong for his comic appearance and his alt mode is wrong too. Doesn’t mean he can’t still be good though!
The description says
The DECEPTISONS(tm) unite with TITAN MASTER partners to power up for battle! Any AUTOBOT(r) that looks into the eyes of GATORFACE has their systems locked. That gives DECEPTICON KROK an easy target for his pulverizing attacks.
No mention of him being the best at sports, that’s disappointing.
Like all the other Titan Masters, he comes with a little info card.
I think a sports man like Krok should have a higher speed. Honestly, all his stats look kinds low.
Out of the box, his joints are loose! Well, for me anyway. Nothing that clear nail polish can’t fix though. He comes with a croc head, a gun, and a croc tail/shield/gun thing.
His face is very nice and accurate to the comic. A bit bulky to compensate for the whole headmaster titan mater gimmick.
He doesn’t look terrible from the back. But, as you’ll see in the next pictures, his back kibble sticks out quite a bit.
I want Roberts to include the other scavengers getting smacked by Krok’s back kibble in their next appearance. Look at that thing! Fulcrum could use Krok as an umbrella!
His weapons slot into his hands easily and yes, that is how he’s supposed to hold the tail/shield/gun.
Gatorface has the same mold as all the other Titan Masters, but I do like the yellow/purple coloring.
The transformation wasn’t too bad. The worst part was getting his neck to peg in correctly. His shoulders need to be slightly tilted for tabs in his neck to click in. The instructions don’t make this clear.
His face is alright, but I’m really upset that his jaw doesn’t open. It looks like it should, but I couldn’t get it to budge and nothing in the instructions suggested that it was supposed to.
Like all crocodiles, Krok has a hatch on his back to store small friends. This hatch is made from a softer plastic than the rest of him, so it can be bent. This was actually kind of nice when transforming him since I kept putting pressure on the plate and I didn’t need to worry about snapping it.
Look inside your local crocodile and you may find a new friend and boy. (Please do not look inside crocodiles)
His gun can peg into the underside of his tail but... Why would you do that when you could have
TAIL GUN!
(Tailgun is my new Tailgate-recolor OC)
Overall, I can’t recommend buying Krok. There are a lot of good ones in the Titans Return line but Krok isn’t one of them. Part of it is just that the Krok I got wasn’t very sturdy. But I’m also disappointed by how much of his alt mode clips off for his robot mode. He isn’t the first beastformer, they really should be able to do better. The couldn’t even make his jaw open :(
