The subway was broken down, which meant Harry (because of course Harry Osborn had chosen today of all days to take the subway instead of hailing the richest rich person taxi cab) -was not going to make their lunch. Which was fine. It was. Peter was not annoyed in the slightest.

He stood there, outside the lunch place, practicing his non-annoyance. There was a deep sigh from next to him that made Peter glance side long at the guy beside him. He was also checking his phone with an impatience Peter found deeply relatable.

“The Q broke down,” he called over with an expression of comisseration. “I dunno if you’re waiting for someone but, they might be stuck?”

It was funny, Peter didn’t usually strike up conversations with strangers outside of the mask, maybe he was feeling brave today.
