Everyone makes mistakes in relationships. Good friends can apologize for their part in such arguments or other clashes.

Mon-El and his story was tightly tied to Kara. To her growth, changing, becoming something more. Learning. Forgiving. Being hurt. Being pissed off. Making mistakes, being wrong etc. Mon-El was important, because he was a part of Kara’s story and HER character development.
While Lena’s story is only about HER. Her story, her snowflake Luthor’s pain, her mommy issues, her ego. Lena scenes have NOTHING to do with Kara. Kara is only, yes my dear salty assholes, a BACKGROUND for Lena’s story. Get rid of Kara or put any other character in her shoes (Clark for example) - nothing will change. NOTHING.
