I'm watching it too, i'm a little freaked out.

I think it's intriguing. I'm not sure how entirely-factual it is, but the basic hypothesis seems to be that some primates returned to the sea a few million years ago & evolved physical characteristics similar to other underwater mammals.

It's kind of amazing & appeals to the science nerd & sci-fi nerd in me.
