Cali and Jamaal decided to go out for a date night at the Waterfront Restaurant in Sulani.
As the sun began to dip below the horizon, painting the Sulani sky in shades of gold, pink, and orange, Jamaal and Cali found themselves seated at a quiet table overlooking the water. The sounds of gentle waves and distant island music drifted through the evening air, but neither seemed to notice.
Jamaal had spent the entire day talking about a new conservation project he wanted to start, his excitement impossible to hide. Cali listened to every word, her chin resting on her hand as she watched him speak. It wasn't really the project she was focused on, it was the way his eyes lit up whenever he talked about something he loved.
Across the table, Jamaal caught her staring.
"What?" he asked with a grin.
Cali smiled softly and shook her head. "Nothing. I just like looking at you."
For a moment, neither of them spoke. They simply sat there, smiling at each other as if they were the only two people in the entire world. The food eventually arrived, but it was forgotten for a few minutes as they shared quiet laughter and stolen glances across the table.
It wasn't some grand adventure or life-changing moment.
It was something much simpler.
It was the realization that after all the moving, planning, and dreaming that brought them to Sulani, they had finally found exactly where they were supposed to be together.
