As Jake made the drove to Katie’s, he was still feeling a little unsure of this whole thing. He wanted this to go perfectly, but he knew that things hadn’t really been going his way lately. Between his parents and Tori, he felt like he’d lost a lot over the past month. But there was something he had to do, that he’d been putting off for too long that he couldn’t anymore. Looking in the backseat, he made sure the cover was carefully over the surprise he’d been working on today, and he hoped that she liked it. Taking a deep breath as he parked in the Matlin’s driveway, he sent Katie a text, letting her know he was outside, tapping his fingers on his knee as he waited.
