KTSW, the student-run radio station at Texas State, invites students to apply for positions that are available during the spring semester.
Applications are open to students of any major, not just those enrolled in the School of Journalism and Mass Communication. The station has a variety of paid and volunteer positions serving a wide range of student interests.
“We’ve got 13 different departments at KTSW,” said KTSW Station Manager Sami Dugdale. “Pretty much anything that you’re interested in, we’ve got a department for you.”
Students receive the experience they need to succeed in the professional world as well as a place to call their own on campus.
"Everyone’s so open to your ideas and open to what you want to do,” said Assistant News Director Gene Brown. “They don’t tell you what to do. They ask you what you want to do.”
Some staff members form friendships that ultimately turn into lasting connections after they launch their respective careers.
“I just started out as a DJ with who is now our program director and my roommate,” said Dugdale.
