Can we talk about this?

I was thinking about it recently and haven't been able to get it out of my head. Kuai said just a moment before we WOULD go back to the Netherrealm if they didn't hear from Hanzo. It's probably very troubling for him to be down there because he once was a revenant (and was probably stuck watching his actions without being able to do something about it or fight…maybe), and he was willing to go down there because he was worried about Hanzo. And then, scorpion showed up. Immediately “wrong scorpion, something is wrong”. Kuai left Hanzo because he trusted he would return.

Throughout Kuai's life, there was a thought of people will stay, but then they won't. First, it was his brother Bi-Han, then Smoke/Tomas, then his whole clan(from what I can tell). I feel so baddd

Now, to be fair, I haven't read the comics or played all the games, so I'm not terribly knowledgeable on their whole dynamics, but I definitely think this is such a touching, but cruel way to show they are close to each other.
