OR UH... Anakin+Padme+Obi-Wan in Overwatch, tragedy highly encouraged

Obi-Wan thought he would have given anything for Anakin to have lived. At night, when he can’t distract himself any longer, he replays that final confrontation. What else he could have said. How he could have reacted differently- talked Anakin down, given ground, done anything- anything- so that his friend and brother could live. 

(He talked it over with Padme, once. What would she give to bring him back? She set her jaw under her visor, the red line glimmering in an echo of the paint she used to wear. “Anakin destroyed himself.” Her voice still bears the scars from when he grabbed her by the throat. “You can’t bring him back.”)

She was right. He was wrong.

Anakin wears a mask now- as if that can hide him (he moves the same, even now, and why does that hurt? That under that hood and skull-like face, the body is one Obi-Wan knows, as intimately as his own?). Obi-Wan gets a good look at it when the thing Anakin is now pushes him hard against a wall.

Padme levels her rifle. It only shakes a little.

“You’re a dead man.”

“Briefly.” That hasn’t changed either. Anakin still thinks he’s funny. “Of course you’re taking his side.”

A moment, shared briefly: all three of them configure and crystallise in their new roles. Padme and Obi-Wan exchange a look, and just like that, he is back, and this is how it has to be.

Padme sighs.

“Of course you’d see it like that.”

Overwatch/Star Wars crossover, esp. former(?) Jedi Master Mom Ana

She’s a legend, something the padawans whisper about, stories gleaned from the tight-lipped discussions of the knights and masters, those who were around for the real, living woman that’s the seed at the centre of the story.

Master Amari will be there for you, the older kids tell the younger. She’s watching, even though you can’t see or sense her. She might have left the order, but don’t believe the stories. She hasn’t gone dark. She just got too attached: cared too much.

As stories about falls go, it’s a good one.

Even Fareeha, her padawan, (now a knight) thinks of this story. She denies it, of course, fixes her eyes on the horizon instead of sweeping the shadows when she’s in trouble.

Ana Amari is out there, though. And on the day she walks back on the battlefield, yellow lightsaber in hand, Fareeha can’t say she didn’t always know her Master would return.

all i know is yesterday i went to the park after work and walked a circuit between 5 pokestops for half an hour in 90-degree weather and i am questioning my life choices

ngl i installed pokemon go to see if i can find anything interesting while i’m walking around downtown, bc if i’m walking around anyway i might as well find some pokemon (also ouch that is too hot for my canadian sensibilities /sends you water and a cool breeze)
