A dark brow twitched at the sudden sound of his doorbell ringing. ‘Hm, how odd?’ He did not recall inviting anyone over, nor did he remember anyone saying they would be dropping by. Of course that was the more polite thing to do, but at least they rang his door. Some guests found more... unsavory ways of entering his house.

With that thought in mind, he made a mental note of the page he was on before snapping the book shut and setting it aside. In one fluid, graceful motion, he was out of his seat and on his way to the door. All the while, he patted down any temporary wrinkles his clothes might have gained from sitting.

A practiced, polite smile came to curl the corners of his lips before he opened the door to greet his new, and perhaps unexpected, guest.

“Hallo, may I help you?”
