My personal headcannons on AIB characters' sexualitys!

RYOHEI ARISU

• Bicurious, I used to be big on Karisu but i've grown fonder of Arisagi over the months. I still think something definetley happened between Karube and Arisu at some point.

YUZUHA USAGI

• Straight, I can't imagine her with a woman at all. She's definetley an ally though 👍

HIKARI KUINA

• Bisexual with no prefrence, she's already cannonly queer and even though i'm the no. 1 kuishiya shipper/fan I can definetley imagine her with a woman.

SHUNTARO CHISHIYA

• Aroace & straight. This is the one i'm 100% dead set on tbh, it might not make sense if you've seen a certian one of my reblogs but I only ship Nirishiya... ironically, if that makes sense 😭 Like they have an interesting dynamic and are both assholes but I would hate it if they became cannon. I won't call him an ally or a homophobe, I think he just dosen't care tbh.

RIZUNA ANN

• Lesbian. I don't have much of an explanation for this one which I hate because I don't want to feel like i'm stereotyping, but... idk. I used to kinda ship Tattann but I realized that I kind of don't like it. I don't really ship her with any other character 😅

SUGURU NIRAGI

• Bisexual with a male prefrence.. He just dosen't know it yet... internalized homophobia Niragi cannon...?

In all seriousness, I feel a little uncomfortable talking about Niragi in the context of sexual/romantic relatinships. I still didn't want to exclude him though.

KODAI TATTA

• Would you guys sue me if I said gay? Actually, idc, i'm speaking my truth here.

TAKERU DANMA (HATTER)

• Pansexual. We see him making out with women in both the manga and LA from what I can remember, but I feel like he truly has no prefrence. I don't ship haguni though, I feel like I have to mention that.

MORIZONO AGUNI

• Genuinly no idea, i'm sorry 😭 I can't see him with a man, with a woman, maybe..? I don't think he's aroace either. I should probably learn more about labels and then get back to him. I don't ship him with Hatter because their dynamic reminds me of the dynamic I have with one of my friends and I don't see that said friend in a romantic light. I don't ship him with Heiya either because i'm iffy about the age gap, I don't think Heiya's age is ever stated so she could be 18 (?) But even if she was I still wouldn't ship them. Please tell me your headcannons for this mysterious king.

DAIKICHI KARUBE

• Bicurious, this connects to Arisu's part but everything I said there stands.

CHOTA SEGAWA

• Straight, I do NOT ship him with Shibuki to be clear, but disregarding her, he acts extremley straight. He's an ally too 👍

AKANE HEIYA

• Straight. I feel like i'm not being very inclusive at this point but i'm genuinly just speaking my mind 😣 This is another one i'm pretty dead set on, I resonate alot with her monolouge in the manga about wanting to marry a nice man who'd treat her right and have a family. Some people might disagree with me but I think she's an ally too, cares less then Usagi and Chota but she's there.

SUNATO BANDA

• I would say gay because of all the killing women and what-not but I highkey have a crush on him so idk 🤔 Jk... he's probably just gay. I do infact ship yabanda too.

OKI YABA

• Bisexual with no prefrence. In a different universe he's cheating on Kotoko and Banda with one another lol.

KANO MIRA

• Mother ❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹 She is aroace & bisexual, I only ship her with Kuzuryu but I can imagine her with a woman. Maybe i'm just projecting though.

KEIICHI KUZURYU

• He is just straight, I know some people are big on him and Kyuma but I don't see it.

GINJI KYUMA

• Pansexual, I like the headcannon that he's hooked up with every member of his band at some point. What a whore.

ISAO SHIRABI

• Bisexual with a male prefrence .. I have a bunch of headcannons about him and Mira while they were the only two facecards left but that's more platonic.

ENJI MATSUSHITA

• Gay. Look me in the eyes and tell me that this man did not have a degradation kink. I love one-sided Enji x Banda 🥹

OKAY so I saw a TikTok that was saying that Chishiya would sacrifice himself for Kuina in marbles squid game

then I saw Twitter users disregard the statement entirely saying “Chishiya would pull a sangwoo on her so fast”

and honestly? I agree w neither statements. While I do think Chishiya would come out of the game as the winner, it is not due to any potential foul play on his side.

(I am in fact talking about their manga counterparts as I usually do lol)

while Choshiya has been shown/proven to be 100 percent CAPABLE of cheating his way to victory, I think it’s pushed to the wide that while he also has no interest or much care for others lives he ALSO doesn’t have much care for his own, he’s a blatant passive suicidal and it’s not talked about enough in favor of his sociopathic tendencies

he found the borderlands interesting because he hoped it would help him develop any sort of feeling regarding his life and the lives around him, he hoped being surrounded by people “like him” would help him understand his own vanity by getting into this whole main character sort of vibe. The people interested him the most, considering they were so passionate about life, Kuina is NOT exempt (cough my other paragraph on that). He wanted people to see and hate him cuz hes immature and wants people to see him as “the mst vane of them all” so I believe he’d taunt Kuina, be cruel, play w her feelings to evoke a reaction- a negative reaction- to the fact that it’s most likely she will die.

But Kuina’s character has never been that, she bravely faces death and she’s the type to keep fighting till the end (osmosis), she wouldn’t care for his taunts and shrugs them off with her brash attitude. I also think in the situation of squid game her character wouldn’t fully develop, and wouldn’t be able to get past her cowardice of not being able to land killing blows/being okay with going to that level, so I can’t see her trying too hard to live.

it’d prolly bother Chishiya a bit to see her still so passionate and positive despite her having so much more reasons to live then he ever did.

but anyway, Chishiya has been known to usually leave the games up to fate and luck, perhaps in order to see if he can find any sort semblance of care for his life, or any excitement/interest. In blackjack he could’ve won ruthlessly, his plan had been foolproof, but in the end he decided it was boring and chose to leave it up for fate and draw of cards. In tag, he could’ve gone for the exit and wrapped up the game within the first 2 minutes, but was more interested in seeing the players and not caring much for his own individual life AGAIN. In the live adaptation of Jack of hearts, he takes a wild guess. In King of Diamonds he chose to leave his fate up to Kuzuryu. There’s this repeated theme of him of not him choosing to live entirely based on his own decision he just gets lucky while trying to find some trhill.

and I think especially with someone like Kuina, and a game like this, after messing with her, they both strive for an fair game, leaving it to chance

and of course, because the theme has to keep up, Kuina loses and she has no regrets, Yk she might even remind him of all the patients who’s wills he discarded cuz she asks him with this huge grin on her face that kinda tells him she doesn’t really believe hed do it either, but she tells him that it’d be real nice if he could find her mother for her and hire a caretaker for her.

and her death would BOTHER him, like how when she left him it bothered him, cuz again the passionate one who has so much to live for dies while he, a pathetic excuse for a human being who couldn’t even bring himself to care more than an agitating irritation is still alive. Plus I do think he would’ve still formed an attatchment for her even in the squid game atmosphere.
