i’ma make a big(ger) post abt this later (maybe don’t dare hold me to this) but i’m now standing ten toes down on the fact that long ago, izidora’s paternal family ancestor was a sorceress like karaba from kirikou.
“she hates children, she despises women, she can’t stand men” and transforming men into objects/utilizing fear to get a village to leave her alone.
come to find out she was harassed & assaulted in her youth, struck with a “powerful” thorn, and chose to live in pain & isolation because she was accustomed to her suffering.
come to find out, again, she wasn’t evil at all, is not the cause of any disasters or hardships the village faced & once she was treated kindly & with love, she treated her village & her partner kindly as well.
anyway, that’s izidora’s great great great great grandmother & one of her ancestral spirits guiding her magic (who may or may not have a hand in her current marriage & her babies) 🥰
