Isabelle was very tired one morning when the mayor came to work, so Klee grasped the opportunity and started humming K.K. Lullaby from behind her desk until Isabelle had fallen asleep. The mayor snuck out quietly and got a beard treatment at Harriet's saloon. Since those are still at the experimental stage, very painful and not really legal, you need to take off the day to rest and heal... there was no better day for this than with the town watchdog asleep! Klee spent the rest of the day watching TV with her friend Kuku whose jokes about the silly commercials and news presenters were so good that she occasionally burst into laughter (which was so painful she spent the following minutes sobbing into a sofa cushion).

Although she had prepared this journey with the utmost meticulousness and boarded the train to Kulle green-haired and well-provided, Mayor Klee arrived with pink hair and her luggage lost. When she called into question why the former town tree had been chopped down in the first place, the mood at the town tree planting ceremony was very grim. Klee's staredown with Isabelle lasted until sunset, when Nate finally grasped the nettle and called Leif so he'd plant the tree himself.
