You’re not going to believe this. I know I don’t. I’ve taken @lazyduchess Story Progression mod into my latest Kulo Seeri rebuild, and... by Sena, I love it!
I wasn’t feeling invested in previous iterations because I played strict three-day rotations. That meant, more often than not, I had to break off just as stuff was starting to happen and go play the next household of relative nobodies. I didn’t feel like I could stay in a household longer than those three days because I’m fussy about keeping ages in sync - I have tried variation ageing mods, but they wound up irritating me. I also felt guilty that most of my sims, born and raised in my game which is now on its eighth or ninth generation, still felt like nobodies to me, but I was always too soft to cut them from the line-up between rebuilds.
So I tried SP. I found that it actually worked brilliantly for me, giving the “nobodies” lives while I wasn’t playing them, but still having the option to go in and play them if I wanted to. Even the way it auto-names babies born off-camera works for me, in that it gives me inspiration for the proper Nuidya names I give them as toddlers. I do use a wacky name mod mashup, but that can always be interpreted as temporary names and birth omens.
Sure, it’s not the usual TS2 approaches of rotational or legacy play. It’s a move away from what I’ve done for nearly sixteen years. But it works for me so far, and it does feel like a better fit for the simmer I’m becoming. Thanks SP :)
