Kuloğlu/Koloğlu/Köroğlu/Kouloughli Turks are a Turkish ethnic group from North Africa. They are mixed people whose fathers are Turks and mothers are North African women (and sometimes Sub-Saharan, like in the case of this gentleman); mostly Algerian, Tunisian and Libyan. This term was and is not used for the Egyptian Turks, however some sources classify Egyptian Turks to be Kuloğlu Turks as well.
Kuloğlu Turks mostly practice Islam and speak Arabic with many Turkish loanwords. Their population, or rather, Kuloğlu Turks plus the local population of North African countries whom are of Kuloğlu Turk origin is estimated to be around 2,000,000-6,000,000. The numbers increase if Egyptian Turks are counted as a part of the Kuloğlu Turks as well.
