drabble prompt; sam confessing that he got disappointed when kurt canceled their duet

“Why didn’t you want to sing with me?” Sam asked suddenly.

Kurt blinked, taken aback and confused. “I just asked if youwanted coffee, but okay, let’s have this conversation,” he shrugged and satbeside him on the couch. “I really wanted to duet with you. But then I saw youwith Quinn and kinda got it in my head that you’d be better off singing withher. ‘Cause if you sang with me, they might get it into their heads that you,well…”

“Like boys?” Sam cut him off. “Guess I should have led withthe bisexual thing, huh?” he laughed dryly.

He arched his brow, a small smile tugging at his lips. “Areyou saying that you’d have rather sang with me than with Quinn?”

To Kurt’s surprise, Sam blushed a little bit. “I mean…if I’mbeing honest, I was as attracted to you as I was to her. I just figured youweren’t interested. Even without that, I was really bummed that I didn’t get tosing with the most talented member of the glee club.”

“Oh I was interested,” Kurt replied, perhaps a little tooquickly. “I just thought, once she caught your eye, I was out of the running.But hey, I never say no to a belated duet,” his smile widened at the way Samperked up at the suggestion.

“Can I start?” he asked eagerly, searching the song online ashe waited for his permission, pressing play once he did.

“Are you kidding me?” Kurt asked with a laugh, recognizingthe song right away, but at Sam’s pleading expression, he indulged him andbegan to sing.

“What would you thinkif I told you I've always wanted to hold you? I don't know what we're afraidof, nothing would change if we made love.”

Sam pulled Kurt up and began slow dancing with him as theywent into the familiar chorus, staying close as they sang through the rest of it.At the last line, he caught Kurt’s lips in a slow kiss, pulling away when themusic ended. “Sorry, I just… that’s how I always pictured it ending, you know?”

“I’m not complaining,” Kurt replied and kissed him again. “Haveyou really thought about it for all these years?” he asked.

“On and off…not in like, a creepy way or anything, though,”he defended. “Can I ask you one more thing? When you talked to me in theshower, did you look at my junk?”

Kurt let out a laugh at that. “Yeah, but I didn’t get a goodlook, you know, if you want to refresh my memory.”

This isn't where Sam thought his life would end up. Back at his high school, nearly 200 miles away from his parents, 500 miles away from his friends.

But maybe it's finally time to work on himself, to work out what he wants to do, and who he wants to be.

A Glee Season 6 rewrite, focussing on Sam finding himself, finally getting some of the support he needed, and allowing himself to heal. Eventual Sam/Kurt but starts as no relationship.

Kurt has no idea what's going on between him and Sam right now, not really. Whatever it is, smoking pot together is probably a really inauspicious start to any kind of relationship, especially with a straight man. So it's not that.

Kurt/Sam ficlet: based on the movie Trick. (If you have time, check it out, it's great!) 

Summary: Sam is a go-go dancer; when Kurt sees him for the first time; ~500, R 

He moves with grace and fluidity that Kurt has never seen in real life. The dancer’s muscles play and flex all over his body - and it's not ridiculous, not showy, it's completely natural and ... wild. The man seems to enjoy every tiny movement, every muscle and every inch of his skin.

  Kurt wishes he was as comfortable in his body as this blond man - but there is a reason he's not a go-go dancer. He nurses his cola and throws quick furtive glances at him, never daring to look for more than just a moment.

"Hey, you're cute," a man with greying hair plops on the nearest seat. "Drink?"

  Kurt shakes his head, and swiftly turns away, muttering, "No, thanks."

  "Too bad," he hears and feels the presence beside him disappear.

  His eyes are again drawn to the gyrating figure on the counter. It's farther away now, and Kurt can see the outline of his dick more clearly from this angle. The orange thong is a stunning contrast to the dancer’s bronze skin and blond hair; the strings circling his hips look absolutely sinful and Kurt just needs  to see the ass, the string must be disappearing right between his buttocks, sliding almost inside -

  Kurt blinks and looks down.

  He’s not ashamed, per se (the dancer is up there exactly for that - to be ogled and fantasized about); yet, Kurt is uncomfortable – in this place where everything is blatantly sexual and nothing is too much. It’s not exactly his cup of tea.

  But staring down at his knees gets boring, and he finally lifts his head and the dancer is right in front of him. Kurt’s eyes flicker up nervously, to the man’s face, and he is looking at him intently. Dancing. Thrusting. Licking his lips.

  Kurt follows the movement of his tongue and swallows.

  The dancer leans forward and then up, doing some kind of a wave with his body, and then Kurt's eyes are at the level of his hard muscled thigh...they travel up, involuntarily, and then fix on the orange splash between his legs, something Kurt desperately wants.

  It's hot. Kurt squeezes his eyes and shifts.

  The dancer retreats and comes back a few times, and slowly Kurt starts to relax. His back is not as ramrod straight and he gets bold enough to slip a ten into the dancer's thong because that’s what everyone else is doing.

  He tries to stop his hand from lingering, but it still does - the briefest of touches, the fleeting, but right there. Kurt's hand falls down and he looks at the man unsurely, ready to apologize.

  The smile he gets in return is the goofiest and the most sincere. It's so out of place - the club, the music, the people, the atmosphere don’t feel as light and easy as this smile, but it feels right.

  The corners of Kurt's mouth twitch shyly and for that he gets another staggering smile.

  The dancer bends his knees, opening his legs, and his crotch is right in front of Kurt.

  Kurt takes a shaky breath.

  "Can you wait until the end of my shift, please?" the dancer whispers to him, barely audible.

  His lips are so close, Kurt just wants to press his against them and," yes," he breathes out, "I'll wait."
