Quick 8/2 cotton huck lace in that fab trellis pattern. I altered the draft a smidge so to fit the width I wanted. I am absolutely besotted with these colours.

Quick 8/2 cotton huck lace in that fab trellis pattern. I altered the draft a smidge so to fit the width I wanted. I am absolutely besotted with these colours.
I haven’t had the most productive start to the year because things, but I am finally getting back to the loom a bit more. 8/2 Cotton huck lace wide infinity scarf. I did two, one for me and one to take to my Mum. First trip overseas in ages, we get there the day before mothers day.
I bought some really cool bandanas from Clamityware ages ago, and finally decided to make them into a cushion for my loom bench.
Finished my Mums Christmas scarf for this year. Mercerized cotton, bamboo, wool and nylon all out of my stash, a 1000 flowers overshot form the Davidson book. Hopefully it fits the brief of “something to go with her black wool coat”. Now to get it posted along with some chocolate and that will have to hold her until we can get over there next year sometime.
Been working on this 8/2 cotton huck lace shrug for a bit, but finally got it sewn up last night. I think it should be good for cooler summer mornings and evenings, its much more sheer than the colour makes it look like. The pattern is from the Dixon book, same tie up, but just a different treadling than those lovely squares I keep finding myself weaving so often.
Finished my test scarves with my new 8/2 cotton. Not sure overshot is the way to go. I ended up using some 5/2 mercerised cotton I had for the magenta version. That one is softer and drapes better, but oh how it wrinkles just looking at it wrong. Also, there is a threading mistake :( It’s hard to see, but still, I‘ll have to find not super observant giftees who likes colourful scarves.
Back to my old friend overshot, with some 8/2 cotton in the Hayes Trellis pattern. Got to finish it and give it a wash before I decide if I have the ratios right. I have it sett at 18 epi because the recommended 20epi seemed to rigid. Maybe I need to use a 5/2 yarn for the pattern colour with such a fine warp... Experiments continue.
The start of some of my stash busting projects, a mohair/trellis yarn infinity wrap. Just did plain weave on this one since the shimmery trellis yarn is the centre of focus rather than a pattern. I have more of both of these type of yarns, but I might just stick with one more wrap in a different colour and then delve back into my yarn stash to see what else is lurking in there.
