me writing about my gnc charas to try and be more diverse vs me accidentally predicting my own gender crisis that happens months later 🤡 anyways
title comes from When The Witches Came Out Of Us by Donna Lynch
CW: idk how to explain it just gender hard
Nothing seemed right today.
Kunaal is sure they’ve dug out literally half of their closet at this point, or as much as they could stuff into their luggage before being whisked off in a black carriage to one of the most prestigious schools in Twisted Wonderland. She had never been one to let her gender influence her fashion choices, wearing blue skirts to match the blue bangle indicating masculine pronouns, or dressing like all of the other boys in school with a pink bangle around her wrist. Yet…
The idea of going outside, having people see them, it made them set aside numerous outfits that seconds ago they were excited to wear.
He hated it, feeling himself being tossed around in his own mind, flip-flopping between masculinity and femininity and whatever it was that was in between. It wasn’t necessarily the first time, she’d sometimes lock herself in the nearest washroom halfway through her day, quickly texting Chetan or Yuvan to retrieve a spare set of clothes or even just one piece of clothing to swap into. He’d taken to carrying around a spare pair of pants and a spare skirt eventually, neatly folded and sealed in a small bag. It never got better when it happened, however. The feeling of wanting to cover themselves in layers upon layers until their body shape was unrecognisable from underneath all the clothes, or catching a glimpse in the mirror and digging out shapewear the next second to try and squish muscle and fat until they had a whole new body type entirely.
He wished his body was less complicated, he thought, staring down at the clothes strewn about his bed, at the closet looking much more empty than when he first started. She didn’t know what they wanted, except, perhaps, to be rid of this body.

You are the greatest thing. I know myself and I’m someone who likes to take care of someone. But I’m so thankful I’ve found someone who takes care of me too. No matter where you are, what you’re doing, or whether we’re together or apart, you always make sure you give me what I need. Even when things were rough for me early on in our relationship, you never left my side. You supported me in ways I needed and also let me breathe.
In some ways, you’re like other boys. When I get upset about something, you promise it won’t happen again. But in the other ways, you’re not like other boys. Because when I get upset about something and you promise it won’t happen again, it never does. You are true to your word. It’s never even a fight, you own up to your actions and take responsibility.
You are so levelheaded and rational. You make me a better person. I know a lot of people don’t want to be changed by a relationship, but I’m happier with who I am now and because of you. You don’t bring out the jealousy in me. You are so honest and caring. You have supported me through my patches of depression, book release, and now through this impulsive career move.
For a long time I chased wild, stupid love. I chased loves that were unhealthy and crazy in every way. But then I found you. And I read a quote recently that was something along the lines of "when you find a good love, you're supposed to feel calm." Well, you make me feel calm. You put my mind at ease. And that's a hard thing to do, so thank you.
