A lot has happened when I planned this story (or like im still planning)

The more ideas I had the less room the story seemed to have for Naakkatar and Ukko. U know. The MAIN CHARACTERS. And I ADORE these two, I want their story to be about them

But

I also really like the story i am coming up with

Ssssso what will most likely happen is that I will make the story not about them (it is about two characters u havent met yet!) and then later will make one for Naakkatar and Ukko.

Will probably use this blog for the other story, just change the name

I cant talk much of anything about this story yet. U can follow me planning it on patreon since patreon already has seen almost all of Jumalanpelko.

This story does spoil Jumalanpelko's ending so i am keeping pretty quiet about it here

Im so happy everytime I find a Finnish song that fits my characters and Juha Tapio's Kaksi vanhaa puuta is such Ukko x Naakkatar song

(Its really corny but iconic)

The chorus goes:

Here is Leppäkerttu's mother Helmikana (Guinea fowl (literally translated Pearl Chicken), cat who first agreed to have the kings kittens and then had an affair with enemy colony cat. She is a wild card she doesnt give a fuuck

Even tho I will make this into the blog for the different sequel i still sometimes update Naakkatar and Ukko stuff here!

So one thing that ive come up with is that they are traveling doctors (traveling = back to each other)

In this universe the cats dont really have healers, this isnt warrior cats, but some cats know some stuff and since these two have been traveling for years they know a lot

And they have different talents:

Naakkatar is a doctor in the more traditional sense, she heals stuff with herbs (and maybe some more supernatural stuff she has learned) while Ukko takes care of dying and dead. He makes sure that no-one dies alone and focuses on that more

It is super hard to talk about Ukko and Naakkatar lore cause

-They were born in different bodies than that they mainly use (aka Naakkatar was originally silver and Ukko brown)

-They swapped names with each other. So Naakkatar was born as a silver cat named Ukko and Ukko was born brown cat named Naakkatar

I really want to blur the line of "where one cat ends and another begins" but still make them their own persons. I want to make their relationship weird to others cause it does symbolize both queer relationships and being trans and how others just might not get it at all and find it scary

Here are our main characters Naakkatar and Ukko!

Naakkatar ( she/he, mainly uses the body with brown fur. Name means Jackdawness): Mom friend, no nonsense, leader material. But Ukko makes her relax and her playful gossipy side comes out more.

Ukko (he/she, mainly uses the body with silver fur. Name means An old man and is also short for "ukkonen" = Thunder): flamboyant, smart and pretty anxious. Trusts Naakkatar to keep him safe.

-They are cats from different colonies that were promised to be each other's mates as soon as they were born, partly to ease the tensions between the colonies, partly to help with the gene pools.

-They are trouble makers, not very polite if not needed, smart and very very loyal to each other.

-They are qpr!

-And trans!

-When one of them is in the silver body, they use "he/him" and when they are in the brown body they use "she/her". Their genders are a mess and I won't even try to label them. Huge part of the body switching is their genders.

The twin colonies -lore!

Some lore I have managed to brainstorm about Ukko's and Naakkatar's home colonies. All of this can still change + I don't know how big part of the story any of this is yet.

Twin colonies:

-Two cat colonies who live on a small island in the middle of a river.

-They absolutely hate each other and have been in war since. Since forever.

-Or they were until a huge battle took place and killed such a big part of both colonies that they decided that it is time for peace.

-To achieve this they married Naakkatar and Ukko. Crown prince of one colony and kitten of a well liked family from another colony.

-Both colonies hate and fear "unnatural" stuff (aka creatures like She from Jumalanpelko) so good that Naakkatar and Ukko dont start doing anything weird like switching bodi-- oh fuck

-The colonies dont have names yet so lets call them The Kingdom and Swans

The Kingdom:

-Lead by king/queen. The role is inherited by the ruling cat's bio kitten (usually oldest but can also be the kitten who fits the role best)

-VERY strict pecking order. King/queen has all the power. (Swans make fun of this since usually cat colonies don't have such dictators as leaders)

-Polygamous (you can also just have one mate but it is rare), pretty fine with queer cats (as long as you are still having babies)

-Having kittens is an honour and cats are encouraged to have litters cause WE NEED SOME CATS TO BEAT UP THE SWANS

-Some cats in The Kingdom have blue eyes! These are mostly in the royal bloodline but have spread

The Swans

-No clear leader. Swans are lead by the most well liked families

-Monogamous. All cats are to get married before they turn one. Some families arrange the marriages, some don't. You don't HAVE TO marry but you will be side-eyed and everyone thinks you will steal their wife/husband and you won't get to make big decisions (The Kingdom makes fun of this since this isnt natural for cats. Swans go "well at least we arent little hoes")

-Marriages are always to have kittens (so they can have more dudes to beat up The Kingdom) so no no for queers

-They have last names! Usually when cats get married they take the last name of what ever family is more popular at the moment.

-Cheating/having mates outside/before marriage is A BIG NO NO, it isnt rare for cats to get killed for that (more often mollies since having kittens can't really be hidden, tom cats can just say "fake news didnt happen")

-Since (even tho it is super forbitten) it isnt rare that cats have kittens with cats from the other colony The Swans also have a few blue eyed cats (and they are side-eyed cause WHERE DID YA GET THOSE EYES HUH) and if you have a blue eyed kitten (even if it was something they inherited from their grandparents ect) you will have to do some explaining.

So yeah wouldnt want to live in either one of these

Ukko and Naakkatar love switching bodies when one of them is in a middle of an argument because

1. They are like "lmaoooo you have to see what this idiot is saying"

2. They are good at different kinda of arguments. When you need to actually make someone agree with you, you need Naakkatar. When you just really want to hurt someones feelings you call Ukko
