How fitting Grell's first anime appearance since 2017 was during Pride month
Miss Sutcliff would doubtless insist that it was not blind coincidence, but the hand of fate, that arranged for these flashbacks in Episode 9 of the Public School Arc (“His Butler, Having a Laugh”) to be aired during 2024’s month of queer rejoicing!
If we’re splitting hairs, her next official appearance roughly a year later in the Emerald Witch Arc anime was in this screenshot from Episode 1 (“His Butler, Doing Fieldwork”), which released in April 2025.
However, Episode 12 (“His Butler, Calling”), in which we saw her walk (and talk! and pose! and twirl!) on our screens as an active participant in Kuro’s plot once more, also first dropped during Pride Month. 🌈
The serendipitous timing made these special moments for us fangrelles that much sweeter. 🥰
