Look at this passive-aggressive little jerk. XD I don’t trust him in the slightest. Whether they were happy kids or not, I don’t think he has any affection left for Ciel at this point.

We don’t even know if he’s human. But he’s here, and he’s brought the plot with him, whether we like it or not. If he’s not associated with Bravat, it’ll be interesting to see how they deal with enemies on two fronts. I can’t imagine the servants would abandon Ciel, though. So he won’t be alone.

It’s also really interesting how he looks like Ciel, but still manages to look different from Ciel. It’s incredibly subtle and I like it a lot.

“Sky and Stars”

I keep seeing people putting him in Demon!Ciel’s colors, which works I guess because he does seem very sinister so far, but I also feel like it’s completely a missed opportunity since our!Ciel never wears red.

I’ve been calling him Astre, which I know a lot of the fandom has adopted as Ciel’s “original” name, but I’ve been calling the twin that instead because of the association with Sirius and stars. Also he can’t be Ciel because Ciel is Ciel. I’ve been in this fandom seven bloody years and I’m not switching names now. So Astre it is. XDDD I sort of hope he isn’t the “evil twin”, but considering what’s happened so far I don’t know how fruitful that hope will be. But I like him. I wasn’t sure how I was going to react if this twist finally happened, but when it did my reaction was basically “holy shit it’s him this is happening oh my god” so it’s all good. ^_^

I’ve seen some people complaining that the plot twist is too obvious, but I feel like that’s a victim of the format more than anything. When it’s only one chapter a month, there’s a lot of time to look back for evidence if you have an idea. We’ve had years to puzzle this out and find the clues, whereas if you were just reading straight through, you probably wouldn’t notice the specific hints until it was too late.

Either way, I’m excited to see where this is going. Personally I think Lizzie’s the one who will reveal Ciel’s “real” name, but I don’t know. This is going to be so interesting!

I’ve misplaced the ask, but before I left for vacation, someone asked if I’d consider doing Cheslock next, so here he is! Current prefect of Violet Wolf, and the one member of the F5 unique enough to not need character instructions! Also possibly the epitome of “Jerk with a Heart of Gold”.

Soma and Agni deserve better friends than Ciel and Sebs. They deserve the servants and Sieglinde and Lizzie and the rest of the F5, instead. However, they’re also good-hearted enough and determined enough that they wouldn’t abandon Ciel, and that’s going to be interesting.

If they ever find out what Sebastian really is, it’s going to break their hearts.

“Best Friends”

I love that they seem like they’re actually friends. <3 Othello pays enough attention that he knows about Grell’s thing for Sebastian, and Grell calls him a nerd but doesn’t actually seem to mind him at all. I can picture them just sitting around gossiping or something. I bet all sorts of wacky stories come out of the forensics department. ^_^

“The Gears of Causality”

Othello’s doing a really great job expanding on the worldbuilding. It’s so interesting to pick out all of the little things we can glean from his comments on contracts and such, and how they match up with things Sebastian and others have said in the past.

I’m really eager to learn if reapers are meant to be keepers of human progress as well as shepherds of the dead. If Grell and Othello are there not only about suspicious deaths, but to correct a discrepancy, that could be really interesting.
