His lips peeled back, revealing rows of sharp canines and serrated teeth. A macabre smile that sent her reeling on her rear, staring up with horror. “You play a treacherous game, girl.” The sounds of joints and bone cracking as he twisted his claws into a gnarled shape. “Be careful of your words or I may not find you as entertaining as I once believed.”
Ensuring he had made his point, he relaxed, the ominous aura he emitted fading away as he slouched back against the wall.
Sensing the danger had passed, Akito subtly shifted away from him, hoping she wouldn't gain his attention any further. “My mistake. I won't let it happen again.” It was better now than later to test how much she could say with him. He had more patience than she thought.
“It will. I trust we will have some friction from time to time. We understand nothing of each other, this is to be expected. It is best we get past now than later when I have higher expectations.”
She grimaced. “You could be… nicer about this.” His cool indifference made it difficult to make a bridge of understanding between them. So frigid, she hardly wanted to cross it, afraid of what it may lead to.
His only answer was a single eyebrow raising as if he found the notion to be ridiculous.
She sighed. This was a… god she spoke to, after all. His arrogance held no bounds and he easily schooled any emotions that would have crossed his features. He was much more better at exercising control than she was.
“I will take your words into consideration.” He said smoothly and she had to take that small victory with stride.
Jin had this all planned actually
Not only was the gang tricked, but us too, dammit. We all screamed Kurori when we should have known something was off about how she acted after Kano and the others found her with Kido.
This is her when spotted with Kido’s body. Note how her Eyes are red and how expressionless she is after the so called kill.
Now what do we know about Kuroha during his killings? To sum it up...
Enjoys the blood and have a huge grin on his damn face. Okay there was one point in time his Eyes were red in the PV but really how often do we see Kuroha with Red Eyes?
Now noting this, if the Clearing Eyes Snake was in Hiyori to begin with, she would have grinned in that sick way too before trolling the remaining gang and disappear.
Which she didn’t.
Instead we were all tricked with the gang and the Snake finally shows that well known psychopathic grin in Hibiya.
Just a little, funny thought
If Snake of Clearing Eyes has a power to stop the use of other eye abilities, does it mean that we will be able to see Kano’s real face when he encounters Kurori?
this is me and tetsu. i'm crying bec im super stressed with school (fact).
Kurori gave her a dark glare. “Are you questioning my strength?” Albeit her words of protection wounded his pride and ego. He wasn't so weak that he needed protection from some human.
She raised her hands in defense, “Not at all. But we are working together, aren't we? You watch my back, I watch your back?”
His expression cooled but his tone was thick with annoyance. “My back needs no watching. I can look out for my own well-being as I hunt.” He certainly could do that much without her assistance.
“No humans.”
He quirked an eyebrow. Humans were not part of his list of prey
But…
“Please no humans.”
“I make no promises if they attempt to strike me first.”
As he roused more and more, Kurori focused his energy to fix his appearance. The once tattered haori and hakama he wore slowly started to stitch itself into a pristine shape. He began to wrapped golden bangles around the lower part of his leg to his ankle to keep the clothing from going all over the place.
He took his time with his hair, combing his fingers through the lengthy strands with an infinite amount of patience. He seemed to take pleasure with the act, he could have easily use his powers for tidy this as well but he could see the waste of doing so.
He could feel her stare against his back. He simply paid her no mind and continued his task with a tranquil expression.
It was out there, remnants of his former strength. Like a moth to a fire, he was drawn to them with the deep belief they would return him to his former glory.
But for now, he would devise a plan to steal them back. Undoubtedly they would be guarded with sentinels, powerful foes who would oppose him, seek his final end when the gods failed to do so. It would be the gods doing for their needed presence initially. Mere peons had no hope of defeating him.
And he longed for his expedient way of traveling, using the gales to fly across the skies. Or be it a ball of light safely containing his form. He couldn't afford such things, needing to remain covert among the humans.
His eyes seeked his would be companion. Akito was her name and she slept soundlessly by the fire, mere feet away from him. It would easier if he took some energy for her, shake off the effects of his slumbers.
Not without her consent but she had plenty to… spare. A look of hunger before he dispelled it with a shake of the head.
He wasn't feral… but he still remained hungry.
