Kei had anticipated some amount of coldness. All ‘lone wolf’ types responded poorly to the hand of authority, and what was he if not a physical embodiment of their overreach?

“Actually, I’m looking forward to working together. I’ve heard a lot about you.”

“Oh, really? I was under the impression that you were sent to spy on me.”

Special Agent Tsukishima Kei is assigned to the X-Files in order to debunk the work of fringe conspiracy-theorist, Special Agent Kuroo Tetsurou. But the lines of reason and objectivity blur as Kei realizes there may be more to these files, and to Kuroo, than he was initially led to believe.

My friend, who is a cover designer, said she wanted to make some fake mock-up covers as practice and fun. I sent her my fic library on AO3 and said, "Go ham." lol

She sent me this one for this fic. It's part of my DARK omegaverse stories, so it's not meant to be a comfy story. Very Dead Dove Do Not Eat.

Also, it's an older fic. I finished posting it in 2020, and I'm kinda embarrassed by my old fics because I think they suck.

I loved the cover and wanted at least one person to see it. Even if it's just my moots.

Kurotsukki - the bachelor AU

Imagine Kurotsukki participating in the Bachelor reality TV show, but both as bachelors in the same season. Tsukki only participated because the second bachelor cancelled shortly before shooting was supposed to start and Yamaguchi, who is part of the crew, asked him for help. His intention was never to fall in love there but rather to have that season be a big hit so Yamaguchi would be promoted. But of course nothing comes as he imagined, and he falls in love. Kuroo and he staying in the same villa start becoming extremely close. They are the only people they really get to talk to during their stay about their experiences and the women who are there to date them. At first, Kuroo is actually there to fall in love with one of the women, and he is also attracted to some of them and wants to get to know them better, but over time he realises he likes Tsukki a lot. They bond over conversations about volleyball and shared life views and go on a lot of double dates where they have so much chemistry with each other. But it takes a lot of time for Kuroo to notice his feelings for Tsukki, and he only confesses his love right before the final rose is supposed to be handed out. Tsukki is, meanwhile, panicking about the show and how this news would affect it, so he lies to Kuroo and says that they both need to pick a woman. He doesn't communicate that he only does this for Yamaguchi and thinks that it is better for Kuroo to get with one of the women. This is very surprising to Kuroo because he knows Tsukki was never really interested in dating the women, but he just does as Tsukki wants to. Both of them follow through with the show but break off their engagement soon after it ends, explaining to the women that it just didn't work out. Kuroo tries to reach out to Tsukki, but he doesn't answer, as he is scared. However, soon he realises he doesn't want to live without Kuroo. He messages Kuroo, and they meet and talk and confess their feelings to each other and get together.

this was asked of me on January 31st 2025.

kei stiffens. it’s not a thing, really. behind the thin wire frame of his glasses, golden eyes blink as if they couldn’t fathom where the accusation came from. he insists he feels no more tenderness than is appropriate towards his lover’s hands.

he notices your hesitation.

and, in any case, he continues with a dismissive wave, tetsurou’s hands are exceptionally beautiful. anyone, really everyone, can see the appeal. their span is wide and elegant, like the wing of a bird. but they’re by no means delicate, he assures. tetsurou’s fingers are long enough to clasp around the back of kei’s thigh as they lie in bed, back to chest. they are thick enough to disappear kei’s own splayed palm when rested atop, like a quilt over a made bed. they are surprisingly tough with the callouses leftover from volleyball. and they are often warm, even in the dead of winter. kei has poor circulation, you see. if he and tetsurou are always holding hands, it’s a simple matter of heat transfer, of maintaining equilibrium. and so what if he likes to be held? doesn’t everybody?

that’s actually the best part, he tells you. the best part is how tetsurou doesn’t seem to know his own strength, how he always holds on a little too tightly, how he frequently squeezes harder for reassurance. kei confesses he’s never been sure if the reassurance is for him, or for tetsurou. but the effect is felt regardless. he explains, in unsolicited detail, how tetsurou does the same with the nape of his neck, cradling and squeezing as they chat amiably on a park bench or watch a movie in a theatre. he’s not trying to be possessive, though it might appear that way to a stranger. it’s simply automatic. it’s simply their normal.

that’s it, kei finishes, eyes distant, chin rested in his palm, smile small and fond, that’s the word. his feelings for tetsurou’s hands are perfectly normal.

GORGEOUS ART

All art is from @reptiliton. I've been super busy tonight and haven't been able to post it, but look at this! It's gorgeous! It's my rarepairs. It's everything. Ya'll need to go commission them for more art because I'm over here looking at my paycheck and trying to figure out if I can buy another piece. I can't get over how good it is.

It's all inspired by my fanfic, but it's also just my main pairings, so... *screams and runs off into the distance to hoard away the art*

I fully blame that one fanfic author who wrote the Yakuza AU and then souliebird (now an orphan account, but I still remember their username) for this ship because I can't get over it. The Yakuza AU account is long gone, and only the UshiYama fic survived their deletion of the whole premise. I am still very sad. Ushiyama is my rarepair obsession, and I NEVER see new content about them. I need more UshiYama in my life.

Then, of course, my KuroTsukki. They are so perfect for each other. I can never get over it. Freaking love them. This is their first kiss in my fic. It had to be in the rain, OBVIOUSLY. They are all about the dramatical flare. UGH. I can't get over them.

Bask in this gorgeous art and then come ship these with me because I am lonely. Also go pay @reptiliton for art because they did a fabulous job, and they deserve more money. MORE.

I'm finally watching the anime adaption of "The Battle of the Garbage Dump," and I just can't get over how perfect Tsukishima and Kuroo are for each other (and my rarepair Yamamoto x Kenma). I'm losing my mind.
