why is everything burning || kuranosuke
「☪」—» By now, Toboe was pretty confident in his abilities with the bond that tugged at the edges of his mind. He'd been here for awhile, though some of his memories seemed... fuzzy, as though they'd been blurred over. He didn't dwell on them, though, preferring to push forward in his time here. And, at the moment, that included following the pull of the bond, paws drumming against the floor of the forest as he ran at breakneck speed towards the partner he knew he was heading to.
And why, you may ask, is he running so fast?
The answer to that lay in the fire licking the trees behind the red wolf, pushing him to run at his top speed to avoid some singed fur, which is something he less than desired. But the instinctual panic Toboe felt at the feel of the heat buffeting his back paws seemed to dim the stronger the bond in his mind seemed to get as he neared his partner, amber eyes lighting up with glee as he neared the place he knew the other would be. He could feel their confusion, their fear, and within moments, the boy's eyes found themselves falling on a form before him, a form bright with color. Common sense told him they were a female, with the clothes they were wearing, but his nose told him they were male. The matter, however, meant little to Toboe, and a bark left his throat as he leapt.
Last minute common sense was the only thing that saved the other from a large and heavy wolf crashing into their chest, snapping into Toboe's thoughts at the very last moment, and the smile on his lips found themselves adorning human features, russet hair whipping wildly as he landed lightly before the other, booted feet slipping slightly in the snow. Lupine eyes were bright, the smile growing as Toboe seemed to almost bounce in place, filled with joy at finally meeting who he assumed was his partner.
" You're them, right? " The pup's voice was excited, obviously pleased to have found the other so fast. " My partner, right? "
