Week of May 15-21
This week was the last week to round off placement and also the last week for the module kv502. On Tuesday, my Dutch classmates and I gave a lesson in Dutch for kv502, which is also as part of an assignment from the HAN. Each of us had 10min, I did my Dutch lesson on family members.
My last day at placement took place on Wednesday, I had prepared a lesson with the picture book Hansel and Gretel where the focus lies more on the picture than the actual reading text, however, I only had one student as all of the other students had other obligations to the classroom. On one hand, it was quite nice because I was able to focus on one student and he was not distracted by the others this time but on the other hand, I wasn’t able to properly round off the reading lesson with the other students. The next day I had a tutorial for kv502, which was quite helpful since I had not started on that assignment yet. After the tutorial, I headed to the library to borrow some books for the assignment.
On the weekend, I worked on my reflection on how I have learnt a foreign language. Moreover I recorded a video in which I speak English for 1-2minutes which is part of the assignment. Recording the video took over 200-300 times since it was the most awkward thing I have ever done. I think that at some point, I was losing my voice because of it.
