how did things turn out this way? how had she, jung soojung, go from being the daughter of one of the wealthiest families in the world to the daughter of a businessman whose business was slowly going under. the luxuriousness of their gangnam penthouse was stripped from them, and she watched as all of her belongings were brought to a new apartment in seongsan-dong. perhaps it was her paranoia, but as she walked through the campus of yonsei, she couldn't help but feel like all eyes were on her. that the other students were snickering at what had happened to her family.
she was so obsessed with wondering what other people thought that she had been lost in her thoughts, not paying attention to her surroundings. before she knew it, her body had run straight into someone else's. "watch it!" she cried even though, in all honesty, it had been her fault. perhaps she shouldn't have come off that rude, but it was hard for her to feel any desire to be kind when life simply was a disaster at this point in time.
