This is just a little something in response to this.
Today, all he could think about was his sore feet.
Sore feet, sore feet, sore feet.
Sore feet had him limping across the halls. He stubbed his toe on a table and had to run across departments to transfer some files and give out some clearance forms for patients to be discharged that day. He couldn't care less that Baskin had begun jumping and clawing at his shoe the moment he stepped in the house. He couldn't care less the moment the dogs began barking at him after a long day; maybe they were tired too. Maybe they missed him.
He tamed the three of them down with the food he bought, fixed the little niche for the mother and her puppy, and adjusted the leash around Coco as he stumped down, sitting on the floor with his legs stretched out. The heaviest, that being Vanille, began nudging his hand repeatedly, as though she was directing him elsewhere. "Hey, baby.. I just got here and now you're pushing me away again? What is this.." He began acting like an unappreciated father, looking away, acting hurt as he clutched his chest. But the moment his neck snapped as he faced the other direction, his eyes focused on an unfamiliar shape over the dining table. His eyesight only granted him a fraction of clues to guess what the item was, cursing the hours he spent on texting and typing documents in the dark for the slightly blurry vision he's suffering now when it came to staring at things from afar.
He squinted extra hard.
That was no bottle of ketchup. It's too.. square.
So he got up, and now he understood what the commotion was all about. "Aigoo.." Kyungsoo felt his heart swell at the thoughtful gesture, sighing out a smile as he picked up each note. For years that they've known each other, they haven't been this expressive over their affection for one another. They've always been the type to turn everything comical, because they pretended not to take anything seriously. But underneath the jokes, aside from their usual banters and a ton of insults thrown from both sides, they truly did care and it was the kind of care that was deep and genuine. Kyungsoo treated her like family; Kyungsoo regarded her as part of his family, whether she liked it or not.
He read all the notes and looked at each surprise, smile growing by the second. He grinned from ear to ear, and although his cheeks already started to hurt from how wide it was, he couldn't contain the excitment for all the gifts. The shoes suited his taste perfectly, the treats for his newborn puppy was well-received as shown by Baskin's constant tail-wagging after the leash and harness have been fitted on her while the watch just left him in awe.
He didn't dwell much on the price tags of each item, of where she bought them or how she even found the time to buy them and drop by his house. He thought deep on what he had done in his past life to be fortunate enough to have her as a constant. The day had been more explosive compared to his birthday, with the last gift causing him to sit back and stare for a whole minute because timepieces earned a soft spot in him.
"Aish, this woman.." With his eyes rolling at the back of his head, he lets out a soft laugh that startles the dogs. He hasn't laughed that light in a while, so maybe they noted the difference in his behavior. At the speed of light, he pulled out the phone from his pocket and texted her right away.

❛ have you ever met someone who’s smile looks like it could make flowers grow? ❜
Nora’s eyes were concentrated on the road in front of her when the other asked the rather meaningful inquiry, her porcelain digits clutching onto the steering wheel so tightly that you’d think it would free itself from her grasp if she held it with even a smidgen less of strength. Yuri’s question could’ve been conjured up because of sheer boredom, being that they had only completed half of their five hour long trek to Busan, or she could be genuinely curious. Either way, Nora figured she’d offer her an honest answer regardless.
“Damn-- That seemed deeper than you probably intended. But yes, I have! Several people, actually. Smiles are the one of the first things I notice about a person, anyway.”
Plenty of people have told Nora that she has the tendency to seem wholly consumed while in conversation-- the way her gaze would drift over their features and really try to figure them out as they spoke; she was fond of making people feel special in as many was as she could. With this attribute of hers, she would always find a specific body part to focus on, and more often than not, it would be the other person’s grin.
“Now, I have a question for you. Have you ever been so hungry that you actually felt your stomach consuming itself?”
Her commentary was obviously one of jest, however her near-empty stomach growled softly, the rather unattractive sounds graciously drowned out by the music bumping in the vehicle.
Well, you have succeeded. I'm confused now.
I am satisfied with my work and I’m also hoping you’re not too confused.
DARY!
ask limit, damn it.
