jason is suprised but then incredibly distracted and dick is just super uncomfortable and kinda grossed out and by the time jason and kory quit playing tonsil hockey they realise that the entire argument has been effectively diffused

it would not be nearly as otp as it is without my interactions with the wonderful kxriandr

before she came along, starx was a low key ship. a low key ship. and now it’s completely ruined my life and i think about it all the time when i’m not thinking about blackx. somehow it managed to force it’s way to the position of #2 red x ship in my heart. h o w

for real though – you know when your muse finds a muse that they just…gravitate towards? jason just gravitates towards jackee’s kory. i don’t even have to nudge him. his feelings for her just happened and neither me nor jackee planned it that way. starfire sees – brings out – the good in red x despite how hard he might try to hide it, and red x is irresistibly drawn to her passion and positivity and…well. how badass she is. jason has a MASSIVE THING for badass women who could easily wipe the floor with him what an absolute dweeb

and he has no defenses against her. he will play the part of snarky, emotionally distant asshole to anyone else, field all their questions with barefaced lies – but the second starfire enters the conversation? he finds it so hard to lie to her. his defenses just crumble. it’s amazing

addition to this: that's partly why jason fell in love with starfire. he is hyper-prepared for adversity, but kory's honest kindness was disarming to him and that allowed her to get past his defenses.

when jason moves into the tower, the other titans quickly realise that kory is the only person who can get jason to do anything. if anyone else asked anything of him he'd probably just brush it off and go do whatever the hell he wants instead.

and kory quickly gets annoyed of the others attempting to filter their requests for jason through her whenever they want something from him.
