The Importance of Giving Thanks
I taught three classes on Thanksgiving Day this year to give back to my dedicated clients. For 20 years, I've been alone on Thanksgiving, so I know what it's like to not have anywhere to go. And that's why I've always taught on Thanksgiving. This studio is like a family -- it's not a gym -- so it's important that everyone knows how thankful I am for the fact that they come to The Studio (MDR) and give me their best. It really is so inspiring. And I'm so thankful to everyone for being so bold -- for constantly showing up. This month, I challenge you to take a moment to be thankful -- for your body, for the fact that you are able to do these workouts and express yourself in this way.
My theory on fitness is this: My job is to be a mirror to show you your potential. All I'm doing is saying, look, you can do this. But I'm just a flashlight -- you have to walk the path. You've got to do the work. I'm not going to push you, I'm just going to hold the light. My job is to open up your awareness to see how much potential you have so you can walk the path.
