Snippet under the cut

“Nikadros has invited us to the opening of his new restaurant. Chtapódi.” Auguste’s flat tone belies his interest. Laurent’s lip curls as he waits for his brother to inevitably continue. “Some fancy Akielon place on Mirabeau.”

Laurent sighs, adjusting his wrist upon his knee. Auguste is watching him, face partially illuminated by his phone screen. “How pedestrian.” Laurent’s boredom is authentic. 

“Will you go?” 

Laurent dislikes the way Auguste smiles at him. 

“When?” 

Silence. And then: “Tonight.”

“Auguste—”

“Damen will be there.” The words come in a rush. Auguste, apparently, has moved past his dramatic pauses. 

Laurent is careful, ascetic in his tone, his posture, every wisp of hair. “And you believe I care about Damianos of Akielos’ whereabouts tonight.”

“I know you do,” Auguste says, thumbs flying across his phone screen. 

Laurent heaves another sigh, uncrossing his legs and standing elegantly from Auguste’s deep-seated navy sofa. 

“We’re taking separate vehicles,” he states, straight-backed and collected as he leaves his brother in the living room.

hello! 🫂 i just wanted to ask your lovely question back at you: favorite moments from any media that you love (books, anime/manga, tv series, movies, games, etc)? 💖

Thanks asking me back, Kybelles. Here are some of my favorite moments from media (that I remember right now, because I must forget a lot of others) :

1. That scene in "King's Rising" between Laurent and Damen, also become my favorite quote from Captive Prince : "I think if I gave you my heart, you would treat it tenderly."

2. When Sherlock save William in that bridge and give him a new purpose in life. Sherlock said this while hugging William (and falling together) : "Finally— I've caught you now. Liam... Let's both survive. Live on, both you and I..." (Have you read Moriarty the Patriot?)

3. Talking about my favorite moments, there have to be this scene between Xiel Lian and Hua Cheng, and this beloved quote : "The one standing in infinite glory is you; the one fallen from grace is also you. What matters is ‘you’ and not the state of you."

4. "Their bodies simply moved on their own". I'm talking between Izuku and Katsuki from BNHA, where both willingly want to sacrificed their self for each other, because both are "childhood friends"....

5. In Owari no Seraph, when Mikaela needed blood, Yuuichiro offer his own (in this story, Yuu really hate vampire but he still care for Mika,his best friend/family). Now, Yuu offer the blood in his hand, but Mika just "attack" his neck...and Yuu let him.

6. From Buddy Daddies, in the sports festival, where Miri took Kazuki and Rei's hands because all of them are family. It's so sweet (Have you watched Buddy Daddies?)

7. This time is from BL manga called "I'll Meow for You, So Love Me" (don't be fooled by the silly title, the story is so good). Where MC said to the ML (love interest) : "I thought you want to go to find your happy ending" and the ML said : "And here I am, back to get it". (Because finally he realized that his happy ending is right in front of him the whole time).

8. Trisha's speech to Hohenheim in Fullmetal Alchemist : Brotherhood. As she said this, the ending song plays and there were flashback of all the characters (one of my favorite moments from that anime, too).

idk why but i like to hc that mary used to do lots of gardening in baltimore and keep neil with herself so both of them would have an excuse to be outside of the house 🤧

OH THATS SO CUTE 🥺

now I’m imagining her with like. a fruit garden. like maybe she grew a bunch of apples and mangoes. and the better memories of neil’s childhood always have that smell in the background…him coming home from school and running straight to the garden…mary doing the thumb lick to wipe dirt off his face…I’m actually gonna cry that’s so 😭😩

hiii this is so random but i just wanted to say i love your blog and i love reading your takes on mary hatford <3 if only we knew more about her... in the books, i think it's clear a part of neil still misses her so much and mourns her. i think she was such an interesting woman and i wish there were more fics and metas that analyzed her complex character. i'm a little tired of all the "boo mary worst mom ever" posts. :/ like of course i'm aware she was paranoid and abusive towards neil but at the same time she still loved her son fiercely... come on everybody...

oh my god 🥺 thank youu 🤧 and yeah your so right like. she’s such a complex character it’s a disservice when people only acknowledge one part of her, especially considering that Neil doesn’t even do that. and he’s the one we get the information from lmaoo.

also: @i-did and @lacuniaa do VERY good jobs at writing her character so check them out if you haven’t already <3 they’re my main sources of mary fics lmao
