The typical Latter-day Saint, I call them "pray, pay, and obey members," those who just want to do good, who very often have a queer child or know someone really close to them who is LGBTQ, and they get it. They see over the kitchen table a real human being that they love. They see the quirkiness. They see the intricacies. They see the beauty. They see the connection... But then I think the disconnect comes when the church leader doesn't see that. That the church leader is disconnected from that reality. And where the leaders of these religions aren't seeing their members in their fullest measure of their creation
Kyle Ashworth, host of Latter Gay Stories podcast. Episode 170 with David Hayward, aka The Naked Pastor. 27:47minute mark of the episode

This has been a time consuming and engulfing project. I hope you can benefit from it, as I have. -Kyle
Warning: many of the statements in the PDF at the link can be triggering
Kyle Ashworth of Latter Gay Stories has compiled a collection of quotes from Church leaders that show the history of how The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints thought, talked and acted towards gay people (and by default this includes bi people, however trans people get little mention in this, which I guess accurately reflects the Church’s attitude)
These statements are horrible to read, but they accurately portray what the Church preached.
Having them all compiled like this also shows there has been some progression.
Some of these may look familiar, I’ve blogged about them over the past few years. However, having so many statements like this collected together can feel overwhelming.
And there is a trend, the rhetoric and practices have shifted. Now they’ll say they believe there’s a place for us in the Kingdom of God, and that we’re loved. They also have discontinued reparative therapy and no longer teach that being gay is changeable (although I’m certain several absolutely still believe it is).
The PDF is 75 pages, but don’t worry, there’s usually just one or two quotes per page, it’s very readable. Click on the link to download.
