"Another trust fun idiot?" Kyle asked with a small chuckle. Sometimes he wondered how he and Evie maintained their friendship when they were so vastly different. But more realistically, it wasn't the two of them that were different, it was the worlds they came from. He made decent money dealing drugs with his brother, but Evie knew luxury like Kyle could only imagine. Not that he resented her for it; he cherished her friendship, and well, he kept the lingering crush he had on her to himself. "Did he talk about himself the whole time again?" he asked with another smirk rising his lips.

Addison had a day off from work and she wanted to go on an adventure, preferably with someone. Running her fingers through her blonde locks, she began walking down the street towards downtown hoping to run into someone she knew. Thankfully, when she walked around a corner and down the street, she spotted Kyle and she waved at him. “Kyle!” She called grinning. “Hey!” She knew that this town was a disaster so someone needed to be somewhat positive.

Max walked down the forest path that led to the little abandoned cottage that he used during his heat, whichwas a week away still, but he liked the little pre vacation. It was actually kind of a nice cabin. He had cleaned it out and spent a bit of money to renovate and decorate it. Since no one came out here, he figured it was safe. So, he wasn’t expecting to see a man on the front porch of the cabin looking in. He ducked behind a tree and whimpered. He could smell the man from where he stood. He was an Alpha. “Shit.” Was this his territory? Max hadn’t known. This place didn’t smwll like it belonged to anyone, but he knew that the man had probably smelled him all over that cabin. He stood and hid, praying that he wouldn’t be found.

Kyle had had a small handful of deals fall through lately, and his boss certainly wasn't too impressed with him, especially since he came so highly recommended from his brother who'd been in the position before him. Of course Kevin had moved on to bigger enterprises and Kyle was left to fill his shoes, but he didn't mind; it was a steady gig with good money, and usually a boss that was pretty chill. That was when things were going his way.

The brunette had thankfully just closed one of the deals on his table, handshakes done and champagne popped and he was free to go on his way. He decided he'd earned the celebration, especially since things had been so sideways lately. What he hadn't been expecting when he sauntered up to the bar was a familiar laugh to hit his ears.

Turning, he noticed the woman almost instantly. Time had definitely been kind to her. She was even more beautiful than he remembered as a kid having had a boyhood crush on her. "Well aren't you a sight for sore eyes." Kyle teased, calling out to her, blue hues twinkling as a smirk curled the corners of his lips.

"Listen, I already said you didn't need to come do this, so if you're gonna be a bitch the whole time, I'll just leave it alone." Kyle grumbled as Dottie called him an idiot for not even close to the first time as she wiped at the blood around his nose and lip. When he'd gone to collect the payment that someone owed him, it hadn't gone as smoothly as he'd hoped. It still went worse for the other man, but Kyle hadn't been completely unscathed. Like a moron, he'd answered Dot's video call soon after, and she'd come over to clean him up, despite his insistence that it wasn't necessary.

Kyle tipped the bottle back, the hint of a smirk on his lips disappearing as he took a decent sip. "Hey, you know I'm always down for a party," he started, nodding as he leaned forward to set the bottle down. "I'm just wondering who told you when my birthday was. Cause if it was my brother than I owe him an ass kicking, but if you swiped my ID while I was in the shower or something, then I owe you a drink." he teased, his smirk returning.

Kyle didn't know why Iris always seemed so irritated anytime he opened his mouth, but she did. She and his brother Kevin were friends, but she couldn't seem to stand him. At this point, he'd just come to thrive on it, he got a kick out of seeing her roll her eyes, or the annoyance that clearly colored her features. But the last thing he ever expected was to need her help, but that's exactly what seemed to be happening in the moment.

He couldn't get a hold of his brother, and the only person he could think to trust was Iris since Kevin trusted her. He held his ribs as he made his way to the gallery she often worked late at and pounded at the back employee entrance. He didn't even know for sure if she'd be there, but it wasn't like he had her number to make sure. He collapsed beside the door, leaning his back against the hard brick, his eyes closing in pain. When he heard the door open, he breathed a sigh but that only sent pain shooting through him all over again. "I need help."
