Ever since Lara had heard about Kyle becoming a father, it was like she couldn’t stay away anymore... especially since the baby’s mother seemed to be such a nuisance to everyone’s life and didn’t care much about father or baby. Despite her feelings for Kyle having changed from romantic to platonic, she still felt strongly connected to him and his family. His older sister was still Lara’s best friend and she was pretty much still in love with his mother, so it was like nothing had ever changed.
Saturdays meant she usually had the day off, so if Samuel didn’t sleep over, she would often find herself in Central Westwick, no make up on, wet hair on casual clothes and stealing some time from the Lee family. Little Ryan was sitting on her lap, drawing some things while Lara sipped on a cup of coffee and munched on one of Mrs. Lee’s delicious baked goods when Kyle stepped into the café.
“Good morning, sunshine. Come in late again and I’m stealing your kid. I’ve already told you.”
