A British festival experience.
Last weekend we finally had the pleasure of attending Kynance Party, the wettest, wildest and simply best party of the year in our very own home county, Cornwall.
We’ve waited patiently for two years to go back there (last year we were at a 4,000 strong illegal field rave somewhere in France) and let me tell you it was worth the wait.
In true British style it rained all weekend, so much so that the organisers had to dig a moat around the venue to stop it flooding, and we were forced to take shelter under our awning with walls Ben cleverly constructed out of tin foil to keep the rain out (which worked rather well until the wind picked up). By midnight the tents resembled more a series of muddy lakes than a dancefloor, but that didn’t stop us hardcore ravers from splashing, stomping and squelching away the night. In fact everyone agreed the mud only made it more fun- our first authentic festival experience.
In the morning, as we recovered, we watched every single van and car get towed out of the field by a tractor. Ben was ready to admit defeat, but I was determined to at least try and drive out of there. I powered the van across solid ground then hit the mud, drifted sideways for a few tense seconds nearly ploughing into two cars, then we were free! The entire field was applauding and cheering as we drove away. It was the best moment of the whole weekend.
