So for those who have (or have not) read the book, an interesting thing to note was Kynes’ gender was swapped in the movie. FYI I think this was a real neat thing to do and that Sharon Duncan-Brewster does an absolutely amazing job playing Kynes. Anyway I was curious as to why they gender-swapped Kynes so I looked it up, and if anyone else wants to know here’s why:

So I just keep thinking about that scene from the book where Paul declares that Liet-Kynes has his loyalty, totally, and that Paul would die for him in a heartbeat:

[Paul, to Kynes] “For your loyalty I offer my loyalty to you… totally”

and “When I say totally,” Paul said, “I mean without reservation. I would give my life for you.”

It woulda been awesome if they kept that scene in the movie. Just saying.
