Even though the curse had broken, he still could be such a cat sometimes. Tohru hid a smile behind her fingers as she watched him nap in the setting sun. The way the sunlight streamed across his face made it look as though his hair had caught fire and gave his skin a healthy glow. Her gaze softened with a swell of affection, grabbing a blanket from the other room before tiptoeing over to Kyo. She crouched to slip it over his form.
He deserved the rest. She hadn’t seen him look so peaceful in, well, ever. Tohru could only imagine what it felt like to suddenly have the burden of the curse lifted from his shoulders. To just be normal. Happy. Her eyes trailed to his wrist where he’d normally wear the beaded bracelet. It wasn’t there anymore and it was odd, but in a good way, to see it missing.
She was just about to return to the kitchen to start on dinner when she felt him stir. Tohru gave a quiet squeak of surprise and worry. Her tone quickly dropped to a murmur as she touched his shoulder. ❝Kyo-kun! I’m sorry—did I wake you?❞
@kyocat liked for a starter.
