He knew from the beginning this was a lost cause, but went along with it as best he could anyway. Trucy Wright had showed up at his office to cajole him into joining this surprise--not that Klavier needed much convincing when it came to Apollo Justice. Now, he was waiting with the rest of the ragtag group that always seemed to revolve around the Wright Anything Agency, crammed behind a couch, nervous, but he didn't have time to think about it, because in the next second, Apollo was walking through the door and everyone was jumping out and yelling at him.
He pulled his earbuds out of his ears, fuming, "Ack--Trucy, I told you I didn't want a surprise!"
But Klavier had caught the way Apollo's eyes had flown to him, the twitch of his mouth, right before he'd remembered to be miffed, and he would turn it over like a stone in his pocket until it was worn smooth and shiny, all for him.
