"Stop it," he whispers, tangling his fingers in your hair. The frayed gleams of moonlight illuminate his face; brows scrunched into a frown, yet you can see his flushed expression in the dark of the night.
"Stop what?"
"Understanding me so well," he hisses from between his teeth, eyes hazily opening and staring at you, yet his eyes are filled with such devotion that you feel like your heart might palpitate out of your chest.
"It feels as if you are reading through me; it's scary and I feel too exposed," he mumbled while nuzzling his nose on your shoulder, shaky breaths causing tremors on his chest.
You felt conflicted about whether you should laugh or not. Instead, you wrapped your hands around his waist.
"You are so much more than your confident and supporting self" you answered, “you are so much more stronger than that and you are allowed to have your weak moments.”
His hand sneaked in your t-shirt, rubbing circles with his thumb on the supple skin on your belly.
“I just look at you and then realize I love you. It terrifies me; it terrifies me to think about what I would do for you," he mumbles placing open lipped-kisses on the exposed skin of your neck.
The hour of twilight made him vulnerable. It made him crawl out of his shell and be who he really is. Not the extremely supportive and mature him, but its him without any filters-- the humane part of him, the loving part of him and the intimate part of him. The one you would gladly embrace of comfort, for as long as he needs.
