the god of mischief kept himself entertained by painting something influenced by an ancient age of arts in southern europe. daehyun tilted his head, puzzled by the selection of such a hobby. ❝ i guess that after millenniums alive, norse art has become boring enough hm? ❞ he took another look around. it was not a cave, that was for sure, still, not what he expected from the god of mischief. things should be more chaotic with someone like that, he thought, and yet none of this seemed like it.
❝ i’m here for something quick, don’t worry about your carpet, ❞ he answered with ease. ❝ it would be an even quicker visit if you told me where it is. ❞ he rolled his shoulders, a taunting smile on his lips. ❝ if you do, my gift to you will be keeping you alive. isn’t that generous enough for you? ❞
all the taunting and amusement he got from challenging the god died in his lips as soon as the other mentioned the word ‘ bastard ’. it was one of those words that reminded him all too much of hell and the lost battles held there. the times when his young mortal self had been weak enough to be thrown around like a plaything. this was a favorite word of lucifer too. he narrowed his eyes. anger started to boil in his bloodstream. the smile he offered then was menacing as eyes flashed with gold. ❝ do you want to find out? ❞
daehyun was trying to understand the other’s power but he was coming with nothing. he figured entities not made of demonic or mortal energy were harder to understand. yet he didn’t get too distracted by it. instead, he focused on trying to find the source of the horn. ❝ so tell me, god of mischief, how did you find such an interesting object that doesn’t even feature in your mythology? from an auction? or perhaps did some old folk pay for your services with it? ❞
“You being here for something quick does not mean that your feet are not walking around on my floor and carpet. Quick still pertains you going through this place, I assume. So unless you plan on levitating, those shoes come off.” He snapped before resuming back to his drawing. “I draw all forms of art. I just have more I am more connected with. Besides, my clients don’t know where I’m from. Especially not when my form on this world is that of an Asian man.” He could not use the word vessel, a word that felt just so deeply associated with angels and demons that he could not risk it.
The surprised laughter that soon came from Lucky’s lips was perhaps a bit too loud and maniacal than he had expected it to be but boy, did he ever meet such a cocky little brat. “Keeping me alive? Cute. And what exactly might I exchange for such a generous gift?” He could hardly keep himself from rolling his eyes. The nerves on this guy.
He did stop drawing for a moment when he noticed the shift in mood, realizing he had struck a nerve. A smirk formed on his lips as he cocked a brow. “Hmm? What’s that? Did I offend my uninvited guest? How rude of me. What was it that offended you? Oh, it couldn’t have been the word bastard, could it? Sheesh. You mortals, half mortals, whatever, are so sensitive about this word. It is what you are, after all. I doubt any angel or demon had actually went through marriage before conceiving you, or else I would be very offended for not being invited. But you know what that means, a child born out of wedlock is, in fact, a bastard. You know, semantics and such.”
He finally put his work to rest, figuring it might get messy soon enough and he would have hated for his work to go to waste. With a snap of his fingers, the piece he was working on had disappeared and gone to a place where it would be stored safely until he would need it again. He then continued making all his art supplies disappear as well before his gaze fell upon the other. “Hmm? I have absolutely no idea what you may be talking about. Care to elaborate?”
