There has always been talk about getting the Let L-410 certified for Lukla Airport and other high altitude airports and it's finally happening! 

For those of you who don't know, the L-410 is a twin engine turboprop produced in Czechoslovakia and now the Czech Republic and is capable of operating in some of the harshest conditions. It falls into the same class as the De Havilland DHC-6 Twin Otter  or the Dornier Do-228.

As it says in the video, Lukla is one of, if not the most dangerous airport in the world. It's in Nepal and climbers fly there to start expeditions to Mt. Everest. It has a very difficult approach with a sloped runway and a mountain at the end of the runway which means there is no chance for a go around.
