Hi! Could I get away with wearing a white blouse with bodylines l507 skirt in sax?
White is a pretty common color to use for basics with Sweet Lolita, it’s a good neutral that goes well with pastel colors so yes, it will definitely work.

Submitted question #925:
Submitted question:
Hello, I’m trying to put together my first actual coord for an event I’m going to in three weeks, and I have a few questions. I’m getting Bodyline’s l518 in black, and shoes s507 in red. I plan to accessorize using mainly black, red/pink, and gold. First, I’m trying to tie the card suit theme into my leg wear, maybe with something like this: http://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/W4EAAOSw7ehXTY0M/s-l500.jpg Or maybe just black floral lace tights instead (or something else entirely if those would look too busy?) Next, is it okay to accessorize using all the themes in the dress (cards, crowns, flowers, keys, ect.), or is it better to just use one or two? I have a long golden key necklace that I’d like to wear, and I was thinking it might be cute to wear a crown on my head similar to the ones on the dress. I found this (also comes in a bigger size): https://www.etsy.com/listing/173699088/ultra-mini-classic-velvet-and-spotted?ga_search_query=crown&ref=shop_items_search_1 And this one, which I think is very pretty, and has a flower that ties in with the print: https://www.etsy.com/listing/207763133/beautiful-metal-lace-crown-and-pearls-in?ga_search_query=crown&ref=shop_items_search_5 And this leads me to my last question. I’m going to use my natural hair, which is light brown, and cut in an asymmetrical pixie, similar to this: https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/236x/a0/44/e0/a044e0c0728ddd0e9c054cf407e93b1f.jpg It’s long enough to curl on the one side, with the other side being rather short, but long enough to pin behind my ear. I haven’t seen many lolita’s with similar haircuts, so I’m wondering how I should style it. Would a crown even look okay, or is there something else that would better suit the cut I have? Thank you very much, and sorry for the long post!
Response from Lolita Tips:
I like those tights and I think they’re a good way to work the theme in. Floral lace would also work though if you preferred those. If you really want to use all the themes of the print you probably could but I would just be careful about it. Maybe don’t make it your goal because then you might find yourself trying too hard to fit everything in and just end up with sort of a jumbled mess. I feel like if you wanted to do a crown I would go with the black one. I recognize that the red one ties into the print but it’s such a small part of the print that I think if you look at the coord as a whole it will look out of place. I also feel like the black crown will probably look better with your hairstyle without having to really do anything with it. I would just wear the crown tilted on the side with more hair.
Do you think Bodyline skirt L507 would require a petti? I feel like it would sit quite high up on my torso, and my measurements are W28 H35, so I'm not sure if just that alone would do the trick. I don't want it to be -too- poofy. Thanks!
If you want it to have the proper Lolita shape you’re going to need a petticoat. Your hips aren’t going to give it any flare at the bottom, and that’s an A-line skirt so most of the volume in the petticoat will be at the bottom away from your hips anyway.
Would bodyline L507 in green look okay with black shoes? Also, could shoes276 be used for classic, or are they too clunky?
I think that skirt would look fine with black shoes but I would maybe slip a little bit of extra black in the coord somewhere, even if it’s just something really small like a brooch or necklace. As for the boots, I’m really not sure how I feel about them. I think the thing I don’t like about them for Classic is how high up the leg they go. I think shoes275 would work a little better. They’re exactly the same design except for being a bit shorter in the leg which I think will help them work better in Classic. They're a little clunky and they definitely wouldn't be my first choice, but I think they're workable.
Would you say that Bodyline's L507 skirt would look nice with 271shoes in blk-owh? I've owned the skirt for a while, (no complaints, really adorable and comfortable), and I've been looking for a nice pair of shoes to go with it.
Assuming the skirt is in black, yes, I see no reason that wouldn't look good.
Would Bodyline's shoes192 go well with the following: L507 and L003 all in sax?
I don't see why not. I really love those shoes. I have them in pink.
What do you think of Bodyline's L507 skirt? I was thinking of buying it maybe in green. I'm not much worried about the measurements as I will have it tailored to fit and my waist is 3-4cm smaller than the 2L measurement. I'm just worried about the shape, it looks a little weird, doesn't it?
I think it's a normal A-line shape, it just looks a little weird because of the tiers, especially the thick band of music note print fabric. I think it's a cute skirt though and as long as you're careful not to take too much away from the shape when you have it tailored it will be fine.
