I was reading an article about Leverage and it mentioned White Collar!
Sometimes bad guys make the best good guys.
one thing that just came to mind while rewatching "the nigerian job" (english ver) is that lee tae-joon (korean nate) was willing (if hesitant) to do crime to save his child, and nate ford (us version duh) did not think about doing crime.
i was thinking about it because the scene where eliot tells him "you should've kept one of those monets" came up and i remembered the korean leverage and how that differs.
i don't doubt that nate would've done whatever it took to save sam. the differences are just fascinating, and the writers of korean leverage never fail to amaze me.
but now (on a more sad note), i'm thinking about how nate probably felt guilty that he hadn't thought to steal a painting. he was too loyal to iys to think about hurting them, and it's not until iys denies the treatment that he starts thinking about ways he could've hurt iys back, but it's all too late.
Leverage International
Saw a post about Leverage International and it reawakened my desire to see other shows incorporated into Leverage. Something that I'm too lazy to write but exists as half-formed stories within my mind that is occasionally fun to think about.
Leverage: London- Crossover with Hustle. 1st team the Leverage International ever recruits. Sophie and Albert know each other and are playing the other teams. They think that they are conning the other. Freeze frame on the shock when everyone finds out.
Leverage: Korea- 5 times the members of the two canonical Leverage Teams met. Includes the team helping Eui Sung when he was a kid. Sophie and Soo Geyong being long-time friends. Tae Joon and Nate solving insurance crimes. The reason Roy named his dog Elliot. Na Byeol and Parker chilling like the chaotic monsters they are while everyone looks horrified.
Leverage: New York- Crossover with White Collar. They definitely helped Neal in the end and helped Mozzie reunite with him too. So many possibilities here.
Leverage: Spain- Crossover with La Casa De Papel. OT3 show up in the Royal Mint heist. They are just on vacation but stumble upon the Professor and help them. The crew also have city nicknames. Portland for Elliot because it was in Portland that they really finally clicked together. He grumpily says that. Dubai for Parker because the whole Dubai thing was so cute. Idk for Hardison, maybe Boston, cause he fell for them faster than the other two did.
Leverage: Paris- Crossover with Lupin. Just imagine the OT3 helping Assane or just watching as he masterfully creates and shades disguises. Neal also can show up here cause he is just chilling in France when shit goes down.
Leverage: Interplanetary- Vala with the Leverage crew. Enough said.
Leverage: India- Dhoom 2 superiority.
Leverage: Japan- I just like Kaito Kid and want him to interact with the Leverage Team. Parker stole Pandora long ago and has stored it cause it looked creepy.
Leverage: 13- Claudia with the OT3 would be a blast. That's all I want.
Leverapsych- Shawn Spencer wreaks havoc as Elliot wonders how the two of them could possibly be related.
Leverage: Burn Notice- I don't even have anything on this, I just think its a neat idea.
Leverage: Guide to the Galaxy- just them chilling on the heart of gold. Zaphod and Parker being the chaotic duo is very much needed in my life
please add more on this. I need shows to watch with the sole criteria being how seamlessly Leverage can fit into them

okay fine. headcanon post about how each character in og leverage and leverage: ca would interact with their counterparts
na byeol and parker would be awkward around each other, but, come on, they're awkward around everybody. i don't think they'd work well together tbh. each of them learned their skills out of a survival mechanism and they only teach their skills to those they trust because those skills are what helped them survive. they would gatekeep their skills until they were comfortable with each other. since parker is older than na byeol, she'd look at na byeol as a little sister and start fixing her ropes without saying anything. but they both know they're looking after one another. they understand where they're coming from and no one else gets it.
tae joon and nate....oh boy. nate would hate tae joon. tae joon is, in nate's opinion, a better version of him. and at the very least, nate would feel threatened by him. like, what do you mean there's another dude with a similar team to his and they're also taking down bad guys? wtf man. this is his area of expertise. and then he'd see just how put together tae joon seems and he'd be jealous. "why can't i be that put together? what's wrong with me?" nate has issues. tae joon would be very worried for and about nate. he'd sympathize with him--i mean, he also lost his son--but he'd also see right away that nate is... not the most stable. again, neither is he if they're talking about his son, but....are y'all sure this man can run a team by himself? cuz it's looking a little doubtful ngl.
eliot and roy.... eliot, as previously established in my past posts about this, would LOVE roy. this man is always working out. he'll get up in the middle of a briefing and just start doing push-ups. that's the kind of discipline eliot admires. and he's lowkey blushing at the fact that roy named his dog after him. like...is this a proposal? because eliot is saying yes. and then roy would just never give him anything. is he mad? is he enjoying the attention? we don't know. his face is always so blank. deep inside, i think he is. he named his dog after eliot (at least in redemption universe) so he must admire eliot in some way. but he can never let anyone know that. i think after a few days, they'd start mirroring each other or copying each other. if roy gets up to do push-ups, eliot is joining him. if eliot is running after bad guys, roy is pushing na byeol away and joining the fight with him. the rest of their teams don't know if they're jealous of each other or admire each other, but so far, they haven't killed one another, so....yay?
eui sung and hardison would be weird. like, they work well together sometimes. but they both have their own way of doing things, and sometimes they're taking each other's keyboards away. it happens. nate and tae joon have to break up the fights, which only causes more tension between the two bosses. but then eui sung would tell hardison about how no one appreciates his work, and...there goes another hacker who's going on strike. first hardison, then breanna, now eui sung? maybe we should appreciate hackers a little more. food for thought.
su kyung and sophie....my god. they'd get along like a house on fire. half the reason both teams are still working together is because both grifters won't stop complimenting each other. and when nate tells sophie "we gotta go, i don't like this tae joon guy", she'd say "well you can go, but i'm staying." and nate would have no choice but to stay. same thing if tae joon ever told su kyung "hey i don't trust this nate guy", she'd say "well sophie trusts him, so i trust him too", and tae joon trusts su kyung's judgment so...FINE they can stay I GUESS. after the job ends, they're getting drinks and talking all about their favorite jobs, and how much they stole. then they'd go shopping and share tips with each other. they bounce off of each other so smoothly, it's like they've been working together forever.
anyway, those are my headcanons.
i'm only 4 episodes in to leverage: con artists, but i love how you can tell that the creators watched ALL of american leverage and implemented many different things from the show. it's like when you're given ingredients to something.
og leverage made spaghetti from scratch with garlic, onion, tomatoes, flour, eggs, and cheese, but leverage: con artists made vodka rigattoni and added vodka, peppers, and heavy cream, and changed out the from-scratch spaghetti noodles for rigattoni pasta.
you can see where they used the tomatoes, but where they switched out the spaghetti for rigattoni.
it's so fascinating to watch
i really love how leverage: redemption acknowledges leverage: con artists. it's so beautiful to me.
and it's not just mentioning the korea team, or mentioning lee tae joon's name, it's also making episodes based off of episodes in l:ca.
like the golf episode, or the episode where sophie meets a famous con artist, just like su kyung did.
it's just so beautiful how they didn't ignore the show, they honored it.
