September 2 ☼ Corridor【Afternoon】
The term was only one day old but already Mary felt like she'd been back in school for weeks. It was easy to fall back into old patterns and routines, back again with her closest friends in her favorite place. Everything from her bed to her breakfast to her class schedule settled in nicely, a routine that made her comfortable. As she had nearly ever morning for six years, she'd woken before anyone else in her dorm. She'd always been a morning person and at least two of her dorm mates groaned as she greeted them with too bright a smile.
Breakfast and classes passed uneventfully, professors making predictable speeches of what to expect for the coming year. Any reunions that hadn't had a chance to take place the day before took place in classrooms and corridors, grinning students forgetting the morose mood of the night before. A mood that even Mary put behind her as she lost herself in the day, that is until she was on her way out of the last class of the day and the jostling of her fellow students jostled her right into Peter Pettigrew.
It dawned on her then that despite spending the previous night with a couple Marauder's and other mutual friends, she'd seen barely any of Peter. "Hello stranger," she said with a bright smile, falling into step beside him.
