“Good night, I’m Rod Remington and we interrupt this program to bring you breaking news. An American cruise ship returning from a ten-day cruise from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida unexpectedly suffered a temporarily power lost last week, resulting in several casualties. The power outage occurred around 2:00 a.m. Sunday on the Regal Princess and was fully restored an hour later, the same time the coast guards and local authorities were contacted. After further investigation, it has been confirmed that the cruise was targeted by a group of bandits, aiming to rob the empress’s tiara that was auctioned off during the Clarington Enterprises’ gala night. About 1,200 passengers were on the ship, police said. No fatalities have been reported, but at least ten guests and crew members were injured. According to witnesses, those bandits were masked and armed with weapons. They did not succeed in stealing the tiara, however, but no further details have been released about the whereabouts of those bandits or how they managed to get onboard. Police has declined to provide information on the investigation while Hunter Clarington, General Manager of Clarington Enterprises Holdings only portrayed the incident as a “rare and unfortunate accident” when asked by reporters, refusing to give any other statement surrounding the matter.
“It wasn’t a terrorist attack,” said Grace Hitchens, the public relations director of Clarington Enterprises Holdings during a phone call with our station’s journalist, Andrea Carmichael. “Immediate actions were taken right away to ensure the safety of our extinguished and honored guests. All medical bills will be covered and further compensations are on their way. Mr. Clarington has managed to strike a deal with Sue Sylvester, head of the numbers system here in New York City to release unique passcodes to each victim -- a passcode that will grant them access into the numbers database for at least 30 seconds. They’ll be receiving them within this week or the next by mail.”
The gala event has been met with mix reactions and reviews from the passengers thus far. Some has condemned the attack as a ‘serious lack of security awareness’ while the rest praised the Claringtons for their quick actions.
We’ll provide more updates as they come. Up next, NASA has launched a mission to get closer than its ever gotten before to...
“Good afternoon, I’m Rod Remington and we interrupt this program to bring you breaking news. In a statement released to the media earlier by Bob Harris, a representative for the Secretary of State of New York, all hints dated 27th of February and onwards were apparently, wrong. We don’t have the full details just yet, but according to Mr. Harris, there have been some complications and hiccups in the department, with officers mislabeling numbers and addresses. The error was found out by none other than Sue Sylvester, head of the numbers system here in New York City. Word has it that she grew suspicious after receiving a hint that wasn’t in any way, shape or form hinting at her own number, thus prompting her to double check the records. We’ll be keeping you folks updated as we receive more information, but for now, we have Sue Sylvester here with us at the studio. Take it away, Sue.”
“Thanks, Rod. You know, there’s a question I get asked a lot. Whether I’m accepting an honorary doctorate or performing a citizen’s arrest, people ask me, “Sue, does the system really work?” Well, let me tell you, my fellow New Yorkers. You betcha. Where do you think you came from, people? Storks? This incident is in no way suggesting that the system is flawed, it just means we’ve got to A) start replacing those slackers with robots or B) bring back the caning.
Ever since I headed the department here in New York, marriage rates have skyrocketed by more than one thousand percent, so is divorce, but hey, at least you get to walk away with an alimony, plus, you get to throw your number back in again. Talk about a win-win situation, huh?
And I know the young ones will always say, “That’s not how I define marriage. I can’t marry someone I don’t love”. Well, to them I say, “Love knows no bounds.” Why can’t people marry for the sake of marrying? I, for one, think intimacy has no place in marriage. Walked in on my parents once, and it was like seeing two walruses wrestling.
Intimacy isn’t going to last, but you know what will? Loneliness. Loneliness is a contagious disease, like a cold, and it’s so powerful that even feline companions can’t save you. But you know what can? The system. So whether you’re short, ugly, bald, homeless, black, yellow or a mass murderer, there’s always someone for everyone.
And that’s how Sue, sees it.”
➡ TASK 4 [PART TWO OF TWO]
First of all, for those who completed task three as well as part one of task four - thank you so much! I really appreciate the time and effort you’ve put into it. For those who only completed one out of the two, you can still take part in this task, but only half of it. If you’ve received a hint from the main before but you didn’t respond to it, please disregard and delete it from your inbox. It’s no longer valid.
So without further ado, here’s what you lovely people need to do next:
You can expect to receive a submission from the main within the next few days, outlining an address (which I’ll get from task three). It’s the correct address that the hint (that your character has received) was actually supposed to go to.
In short, your character will be experiencing two different scenarios: 1) They’ll deliver / send / give their current hint (only the most recent one!) to the correct person 2) Receive their correct hint from someone else
A reminder that your character need not send out the hint if that’s not an in-character thing to do! They can always choose to ignore it. But do note that the same hint will never be sent out again (you may take this as an IC information from the government)
Kindly send me a message once your character has received the correct hint, so that I can update the government records page accordingly.
Hopefully this will be an opportunity for everyone to plot and interact with each other!
Deadline: No deadline.
Tagging: You may choose to tag all related posts with la!task4 if you wish, but it isn’t mandatory.
As usual, please don’t hesitate to let me know if you have any questions at all. Have fun!
“Good night, I’m Rod Remington and we interrupt this program to bring you breaking news. In a statement released to the media earlier by Grace Hitchens, the public relations director of Clarington Enterprises Holdings, a dazzling tiara featuring emeralds believed to have belonged to the last Empress of the French — Empress Eugenie, wife of Napoleon III, will make a rare appearance at the giant corporation’s upcoming gala dinner. Considered the most important piece of jewelry to come to auction, the eleven pear-shaped emeralds are finest-quality Colombian and collectively weigh over 500 carats. It is believed that the tiara may fetch up to $20 million or more during the auction, making it the highest price ever achieved for a tiara at a charity event. Commenting on the gala dinner, Henry Clarington, Chairman and CEO of Clarington Enterprises Holdings, said: “We’re extremely honored and humbled to be able to offer perhaps the grandest piece of jewelry to come to sale in over 30 years and unsurprisingly, the market responded with enthusiasm. All tables and seats have been sold out across the board, indicating the extraordinary appetite among connoisseurs for rarity, quality and provenance. We look forward to delighting all our esteemed guests on the gala night itself.”
OOC NOTE:
Hey, guys! As mentioned in the first event post here, hopefully everyone has already figured out a way to get your character on-board of the Regal Princess by now! If you haven’t already done so, fret not, because the event isn’t happening until Friday, which means you still have a few more days to think about it. As usual, if you need any help coming up with something, please let me know!
Now, as most of you might have already guessed, something unpleasant is going to happen on the gala night (Saturday, August 4th), right after the charity auction. All characters will be involved and affected in some ways — some more than others depending on the kind of plots you guys intend to play out — and as stated in the first post, one pair will be randomly picked for the main plot.
Without further ado, here are the event pairings:
@actuallymason & @wildeactually (congratulations, you guys have been chosen as tributes)
@nycmadison & @smytheactually
@nycbanderson & @kurtnyc
@quinninthecity & @thereal-broadwayberry
@stjamesactually & @hunteractually
Some FAQs before we move on to the schedule and itinerary:
1. How do the pairings work? Does this mean my character must interact with the other for the entire length of the event?
Just to avoid any confusion, the gala dinner itself is only happening on the last night of the cruise, which is the 4th of August. Your character is free to interact with whomever they want during their stay on the cruise. The event pairings are mostly for the happenings that will take place after the dinner. This is because not every character will attend the gala dinner. For example, Mason and Santana won’t be since they’re part of the crew. Which is why the gala dinner isn’t exactly the main event, but rather the things that will be happening afterwards!
2. So... what exactly is going to happen?
The gala dinner will start sharply at 7PM on the 4th of August, at the Concerto Dining Room on deck 6. The auction is happening from 8 till 9PM, followed by dancing and more champagne until 10PM or however long the guests wish to stay — there’s really no curfew or anything like that.
2AM is when the main event officially begins. A group of professional thieves (ten of them) have been smuggled onboard (with some help from someone working for the Claringtons), disguised as waiters, waitresses and kitchen helpers.
The tiara will be kept in an unoccupied penthouse suite — M722, deck 15. Two of them will break into that room, two will try to hack into the computer screen activities (because CCTVs), while the rest roam along decks 12-14 and 16-17 (logically speaking should be quite empty as people are either sleeping or gambling in the casino at deck 6), preventing anyone (especially the Claringtons and their men) from approaching. Some of them are armed with knives and guns, but not all. Although, those who aren’t armed are skilled in close combat.
What they didn’t know, however, was that the safe came with a backup emergency system. Once triggered, it’ll cut off the power (which means total blackout and the cruise will come to a halt), locking them inside the suite (all penthouse suites use electronic door locks with PIN entry).
Your task is this: With all of the above in mind, discuss with your event partner and come up with a plot that could aid in your character’s personal development and growth OR help to build a friendship / some kind of relationship between two characters. Use the deck plans to your advantage and feel free to utilize and godmod those thieves if necessary, but it’s definitely not a must for your characters to bump into them. The entire thing will end around 3AM once the Claringtons and their men step in to control the situation.
3. When the main event is happening, can we still interact with characters other than the one paired with ours?
The answer is yes, but it also depends on the plot that each pair comes up with and whether it’d make sense or not. For instance, if Quinn and Rachel are trapped somewhere, then that makes it impossible for them to interact with someone else until they’ve gotten out of that place. If you guys can somehow make things work between yourselves, I don’t see why two or more pairings can’t meet halfway and continue on the storyline or even split up to join another pair.
4. We’ve been selected as the main pair, what do we need to do?
For now, nothing, but I’ll be reaching out to the both of you to discuss soon!
The itinerary:
07/27, 5PM: Depart from New York (Manhattan Cruise Terminal)
07/28: At Sea

Accommodations:
Esteemed guests such as Quinn’s parents will be staying in the penthouse suites, whereas Quinn, Sebastian, Jesse etc. will be staying in the premium or club-class mini suites.
For convenience sake, I’ve gone ahead and allocated every character a room to the best of my ability based on what I know. If your character isn’t on this list, it just means that I’m not sure how they would have gotten onboard. So once you’ve come up with a way, just let me know and I’ll add them afterwards!
Mason McCarthy: E120, deck 8
Madison McCarthy: L202, deck 16
Quinn Fabray: L108, deck 16
Sebastian Smythe, Blaine Anderson: M107, deck 15
Jesse St. James: A429, deck 12
Kurt Hummel: R440, deck 14
Hunter Clarington: R731, deck 14
Rachel Berry: C616, deck 10
Kitty Wilde: A738, deck 12
For the cruise crews: Accommodation and food are all inclusive and provided. The facilities / entertainment are open for your characters to explore during non-working hours as well.
Casinos, clubs, bars, spas etc. are not free and will require additional expenses from your character’s end.
You may visit this page here for the full list of activities + what the accommodation rooms look like.
I believe I’ve covered everything I needed to, but if there’s something else you’d like to know, feel free to shoot me an IM on the main! It also goes without saying that any serious plots (including death, serious illness or injury, etc) must be approved by the main before being played out on the dash.
Some of what I’ve mentioned above might sound a little confusing, so do let me know if you have any questions. Thank you so much for reading and have fun!
What → Clarington Enterprises Holdings’ Annual Gala Dinner
When → Friday, July 27th until Sunday, August 5th
Where → 10 days 9 nights onboard Regal Princess Cruise departing from New York City (Manhattan) to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and back. The dinner will be held on the last night.
Often seen as the ‘event of the year’ amongst the elite, this charity fundraiser event aims to benefit the progressive innovation in systems development, communication technology, and most importantly – sustainable energy. The guest list, since 1990, has been carefully presided over by the Claringtons and only 700 people from around the world make the guest list each year.
Admin note: This will be a mandatory event, please read below to find out how your characters can get involved!
OOC NOTE:
Hi everyone, and welcome to our second plot drop event! As mentioned above, this plot drop is mandatory, which means everyone should involve their characters in this event unless you’re on hiatus.
I’ll be pairing characters up randomly via a generator and amongst all those pairs, one pair will be selected to take part in the main plot, directly. The last day of the cruise is on the 5th of August, but I’ll be extending the duration of the event for another week on the dash so that all of us don’t have to rush our interactions.
The pairings will be announced next Sunday (22nd July), but in the meantime, your challenge is this: you’ll need to come up with a way / plot / idea to get your character onboard of that cruise.
Below are some of the ways:
Invited by the Claringtons directly
Purchase or sponsor a table. Prices range from $200,000 to $500,000 depending on who’s buying and their relationship with the Claringtons
Reputable celebrities (Actors, Actresses, Musicians, Sports Stars, Designers, etc.) will usually make the list
Publicists and managers of invited celebrities
Attend the gala as someone’s date
Perform at the gala
Apply to become a waiter / waitresses at the gala
Feel free to take this opportunity to plot with one another. Remember, you don’t have to go about this alone!
As usual, feel free to drop me an ask if you have any questions. Thank you and have fun!
