➡ TASK 5 [SONG MOODBOARDS]

For this task, we’ll work on getting to know our muses a little better by creating song moodboards. As the name suggests, all you need to do is to pick a song for your muse / your muse + someone else’s muse and create a board for them! Feel free to do as many or as little as you like. It can be 6 / 8 / 9 pictures or gifs per board, that’s totally up to you!

“Good afternoon, I’m Rod Remington and we interrupt this program to bring you breaking news. In a statement released to the media earlier by Bob Harris, a representative for the Secretary of State of New York, all hints dated 27th of February and onwards were apparently, wrong. We don’t have the full details just yet, but according to Mr. Harris, there have been some complications and hiccups in the department, with officers mislabeling numbers and addresses. The error was found out by none other than Sue Sylvester, head of the numbers system here in New York City. Word has it that she grew suspicious after receiving a hint that wasn’t in any way, shape or form hinting at her own number, thus prompting her to double check the records. We’ll be keeping you folks updated as we receive more information, but for now, we have Sue Sylvester here with us at the studio. Take it away, Sue.”

“Thanks, Rod. You know, there’s a question I get asked a lot. Whether I’m accepting an honorary doctorate or performing a citizen’s arrest, people ask me, “Sue, does the system really work?” Well, let me tell you, my fellow New Yorkers. You betcha. Where do you think you came from, people? Storks? This incident is in no way suggesting that the system is flawed, it just means we’ve got to A) start replacing those slackers with robots or B) bring back the caning.

Ever since I headed the department here in New York, marriage rates have skyrocketed by more than one thousand percent, so is divorce, but hey, at least you get to walk away with an alimony, plus, you get to throw your number back in again. Talk about a win-win situation, huh?

And I know the young ones will always say, “That’s not how I define marriage. I can’t marry someone I don’t love”. Well, to them I say, “Love knows no bounds.” Why can’t people marry for the sake of marrying? I, for one, think intimacy has no place in marriage. Walked in on my parents once, and it was like seeing two walruses wrestling. 

Intimacy isn’t going to last, but you know what will? Loneliness. Loneliness is a contagious disease, like a cold, and it’s so powerful that even feline companions can’t save you. But you know what can? The system. So whether you’re short, ugly, bald, homeless, black, yellow or a mass murderer, there’s always someone for everyone. 

And that’s how Sue, sees it.”

➡ TASK 4 [PART TWO OF TWO]

First of all, for those who completed task three as well as part one of task four - thank you so much! I really appreciate the time and effort you’ve put into it. For those who only completed one out of the two, you can still take part in this task, but only half of it. If you’ve received a hint from the main before but you didn’t respond to it, please disregard and delete it from your inbox. It’s no longer valid. 

So without further ado, here’s what you lovely people need to do next:

You can expect to receive a submission from the main within the next few days, outlining an address (which I’ll get from task three). It’s the correct address that the hint (that your character has received) was actually supposed to go to.

In short, your character will be experiencing two different scenarios: 1) They’ll deliver / send / give their current hint (only the most recent one!) to the correct person 2) Receive their correct hint from someone else

A reminder that your character need not send out the hint if that’s not an in-character thing to do! They can always choose to ignore it. But do note that the same hint will never be sent out again (you may take this as an IC information from the government)

Kindly send me a message once your character has received the correct hint, so that I can update the government records page accordingly. 

Hopefully this will be an opportunity for everyone to plot and interact with each other!

Hi everyone! Under the cut you’ll find part two of the second task. Just wanted to remind you guys again that this task isn’t mandatory, and it’s absolutely fine to change your mind even if you did complete part one of the task. As usual, please let me know if you have any questions at all. Have fun!

➡ TASK 2 [PART TWO OF TWO]

For those who completed part one of the task - thank you so much! I really appreciate the time and effort you’ve put into it, especially since I know most of you are really busy with school/work/life in general. So without further ado, here’s what you need to do next:

Write an in character letter/diary entry/anything really to the person who’s holding the number that your character has sent in 

Okay, but what should my character say or write about? That’s entirely up to your character! Do keep in mind that that person may or may not be their life partner, and that’s serious (unless your character doesn’t take the system very seriously). So how would that affect their writing and what would they want to say to that person? Feel free to be as creative as you like!

One thing to note, however - your character is forbidden to imply or include their name, their own number, as well as their contact details anywhere within the letter/entry

Deadline: Thursday, 25 Jan Important: Please don’t post it - submit it to the main instead

All submissions will be sent out on Friday, 26 Jan from the main. If your character has received one (please treat it as a mail from the government), then congratulations! Someone out there has an inkling that they might be their life partner, so what should your character do with that letter? Two choices -

Your character can read it, post it (all will be considered as private actions), and do nothing about it. OR

Your character can read it, post it, AND choose to write back - again, it can be anything - letter/diary entry/etc. They’re also allowed to include their name and contact details if they wish to do so

Deadline: Monday, 29 Jan Important: If your character is writing back, please don’t post it - submit it to the main instead Tagging: Please tag all posted submissions with la!task2

All submissions (if any) will be sent out on Tuesday, 30 Jan from the main. Once again, please tag all posted submissions with la!task2 and that would be the end of the task!

➡ TASK 1 [CHARACTER AESTHETIC BOARD]

Let’s get to know our muses a little better! For this task, we’ll work on creating character aesthetic boards to help visualize and capture the essence of our characters. If you haven’t done any before, HERE’s an example of a character aesthetic board. Feel free to do as many or as little as you like, however each of them will need to include or reflect the items below. One board will consist of eight pictures altogether:

Your character’s appearance/what they look like - can be faceless too

Your character’s designated number

Your character’s horoscope

Your character’s Hogwarts house

Your character’s MBTI personality type

Your character’s alignment - i.e. true neutral, chaotic good, etc. 

Your character’s favorite quote or a quote that best represents them

Your character’s current job or future dream job or something they're fond of

➡ TASK 2 [PART ONE OF TWO]

All characters should have already received at least one hint from the main. For part one of this task, your character will need to have a go at deciphering the first hint and inform the government which number they think they’re matched with (just send the number via an ask to the main). Your character may take this as they’re participating in a voluntary research study conducted by the government, which they’ll be incentivized for upon successful completion.

➡ TASK 8 [Q&As 002: ABCs]

For this task, we’ll work on getting to know our muses a little better by answering OOC questions about our characters in regards to a certain topic or question. But instead of the usual spamming of questions during honesty hour etc., we’re doing this via a game of tag instead!

This time, we’ll be using this list here (X), answering all five questions from a specific alphabet / category. 

For those who have gone through Q&As 001: LOVE (X) - you’re already familiar with how this works, but feel free to read on if you need a refresher!

So how does this work?

I’ll randomly select a player via a generator and tag them along with an alphabet (A-Z). 

They’ll need to reblog the post and answer those five questions out of character.

After answering but before posting, they’ll have to tag the next player with a different / same alphabet (that’s up to you!) for them to answer.

And whoever’s been tagged will have to repeat steps 2 and 3.

Things to take note of:

I don’t expect players to come online everyday, so each player will have up to 72 hours to answer the question.

If the alphabet / question still remains unanswered after 72 hours, then the previous player will have to choose another player to keep the task going.

Keep all the previous Q&As within the post itself. Please do not delete or remove any of them.

You need only answer the alphabet / question that was meant for you. For example, if five alphabets have been answered previously and you’ve been tagged to answer the sixth one, you need only answer that and nothing else.

Please avoid tagging the previous player and be as inclusive as possible. For example, if I tagged JQ after answering mine, I’d expect her to tag someone else.

Aside from just tagging the player’s URL, please drop the player an IM as well just in case it didn’t work for some reason!

➡ TASK 7 [HOW COMPATIBLE ARE OUR CHARACTERS?]

For this task, let’s have some fun by figuring out how compatible our characters are with one another. Compatibility is often seen as something fixed and formulaic, often basing it on stuff like having similar personalities or hobbies and interests in common. But is this really the case? Let’s find out. 

All you need to do is to answer the below quiz in character and post the ‘answer’ to your character’s blog. Simply copy and paste the questions and simply bold the one that best describes / resonates the most with your character. You may put them under a cut / create a character banner / simply copy and paste them as they are with your answers - I’ll leave that entirely up to you!  

A gentle reminder that this task is purely for fun and none of the results should be used or mentioned in game (unless your characters decide to attempt the same quiz within the game!)

QUESTION 1: You’re on a flight from New York to London with one stop in Iceland. In Iceland you are informed about eight hour delay. Your reaction:

While on intellectual level you realize this must be a major inconvenience, you still feel excited about this unexpected turn of events. You have eight hours to explore new places! One thing is for sure: you are not going to spend eight hours in the airport!

Delay? Oh no! Your mom will be worried. Oh well. Before you know it, you find yourself socializing with an elderly couple.

You are really annoyed. You’ll be late to work. You have commitments. You have things to do. To take an advantage of this extra time, you open your laptop and work. Or head to airport bookstore to find something good to read — something practical related to your career will be the best.

You sit down in a chair and remain there for eight hours. Good thing, you are never bored.

QUESTION 2: What’s your learning style?

You memorize quickly and forget quickly. You’re interested in many different subjects but never get deeply involved with any given subject.

You grasp things fast and are able to see connections between seemingly unrelated subjects. You like to classify and generalize information and are able to read between the lines.

You know that mastering any subject or skill requires patience and dedication. While you have many interests, you prefer to attack them one by one. Your focus is narrow and deep.

You’re a slow learner but once you grasp something, you never lose it.

QUESTION 3: Someone hurt you. Your reaction:

Simply shake it off. Perhaps give yourself a break and do something fun.

Struggle to hold the tears. Look for support of a friend or a family member to complain and cry on their shoulder.

Argue. Simply DESTROY them. They should know who is they’re dealing with!

You need to think it over. You won’t be taking any fast decisions.

QUESTION 4: What’s in your drawer at work?

Mess! I am afraid to open it!

My drawer is neat and clean. There are work related materials and some personal things, like family photos or things that remind me about people I love. I like to take a break and look at them while at work.

Just work related stuff. I don’t waste time rearranging things in my drawer. As long as I can find what I need, it’s good enough.

My drawer is super organized. Nothing, and I mean NOTHING is out of place there.

QUESTION 5: You have some money to spend. What do you do?

Spend it on fun activities and/or luxury items.

Buy gifts for people you love.

Invest it in your business or in your education.

Despite you have enough money saved in your bank account, you decide to save even more.

QUESTION 6: How often do you change your mind?

I'm extremely spontaneous and change my mind very often.

I’m very emotional, and this causes me to change my mind often.

I don’t change my mind easily but can take fast decisions when I have to.

For this task, we’ll work on creating boards to help visualize your character’s living place. Feel free to do as many or as little as you like, however please include your character’s living address on the board itself (this doesn’t have to be one of the pictures, you may choose to write them at the bottom) as this will be needed for task 4.

Some of the things you may consider for the board: 

Your character’s bedroom

Living room 

Kitchen

Wardrobe

What’s the color tone? 

Does your character own any memorabilia in their room?

Do they make their bed or leave it messy?

Do they have roommates? Are they sharing an apartment with other people?

Do they have any pets? 

Do they hang any paintings or pictures on the wall? 

Feel free to let your imagination run wild and be as creative as you like. It can be 6 / 8 / 10 pictures per board, that’s totally up to you!
